Left footed and just 24 years old, with 20 goals and 9 assists over the last two years in Ligue 1. Ridiculously versatile, having played as a right winger, striker, number 10 and central midfielder in a midfield three. Also apparently a god friend of ASM. And he's been publicly made available for £17 million this summer. He's one I though we'd have next up, if Diaby didn't pan out as seems to be the case. Weve got the targets weve got so far because we've been working on them since January. Clubs may change their mind when there is only a week to go and they realise the player wants to leave and no other clubs are willing to spend 30M on them. You typically wouldn't even bother trying to pull fees down if the difference in valuation is huge. You can always get an inkling of whether there is room for negotiating. Not sure we are still interested in most of these names being peddled. But these Journos are that dumb they just keep going on about how we won't pay enough for them. Unless we decide to go for one of the relegated teams players that are more in that price range, but can't help but think we would have done that by now if we really wanted one of those lot.
