Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

To summarise, no cunt knows whats going on, Liverpool may, or may not have made a bid for Isak.  Liverpool may try and sign Isak and Ekitike.  We may or may not sign Ekitike and Isak may or may not leave.

We could end up with both Isak and Ekitike, one of either or neither and DCL could be the main man next season.

From what I gather it seems to be:

We started talks and made a bid for Ekitike.

Frankfurt holding out and trying to pretend there's lots of people willing to pay more, when there aren't, or only Saudi clubs he doesn't want to go to.

Liverpool made an informal enquiry as to whether we might be willing to open talks about Isak, knowing that we would say no. Then they told journalists so it goes in the public domain to try and unsettle Isak and get him to try and force a move, which was their plan all along as they know we'd otherwise say no.

Frankfurt/Ekitike's agent/general twitter wankers seeking engagement say that Liverpool might move for Ekitike instead to try and create panic and drive up price.

We're going to try with a bigger offer today. At the moment no-one else that interests Ekitike (i.e. the real big boys) are in for him.

EDIT: to be resolved: Will the Ekitike bid succeed? Will Isak try and force a move, or is he willing to discuss a new contract? Can Saudi Clubs afford Matt Targett? Find out in the next exciting edition of Internet Bullshit.

Not how it works though, unless Isak pays for himself out of his own pocket.

I and am sure you have followed football enough to know a player with his head turned usually gets his move. Liverpool will bid higher

Eventually, but not necessarily in the short term.  And FFS his contract doesn’t wind down for three years. If it expired in 2026 or 27 even, then we’d be in a tricky place.

Genuinely think it’ll come down to what Isak wants.

He's under contract, seems happy here, we've just signed one of his pals for big money, he's about to embark on another CL season and won a trophy last term. Yet he'd down tools and cause internal ructions if we don't let him leave ?

He's strikes me as being a good pro, not a complete bell end

Hope you’re right. Would sting more than Andy Cole & Andy Carroll put together

Definitely, not this season though not a chance in hell we will let him go and I'm certain Isak will be more than ok with that. He will get a pay rise also. Next season will be the test and will  depends on how we perform this season coming.

Wonder if the sale of Longstaff has meant we could go back in with a higher offer?

I'm sure it helps, but I think they just see the urgency of the situation and know they can't fuck about.

Assuming it's all true obviously.

Sounds dramatic but I would struggle to even watch much football this season if it happens man. I don't believe it will though

That's about the size of it, anything could happen. No point getting all worried, whatever happens, er.....happens.

If he wants to leave next season, I’ll drive him to Barcelona to take a 38 year old Lewandowski’s place. Best move for him and spares us him going to those self righteous shithouses on Stanley Park.

Really good sign this.

This guy is highly rated and is coming off a really good season in the Belgian league.

They also already signed Burkardt a couple of weeks ago, who's been really good in the Bundesliga already.

I’m thinking this is the right time to have Eddie Howe as basically the man in charge of ins and outs at the club. Make football decisions l.

I wonder if Eddie had been in charge of ins and outs at the time Ekitike left PSG he would already be an Newcastle player, and for £14m.

Anyone know how to rapidly strengthen the pound against the euro btw?

Vote Tory. They have a strong record on the economy.

I don’t know much about their finances but I’d guess it would be a disaster for Frankfurt if they let this kind of money get away. They could maybe risk getting 5m more from someone else, but I’d expect them to take the money pretty quickly.
