Boo Boy
Bruno definitely meant that because he is a top class player.
Colos Short and Curlies
24 minutes ago, Wandy said: Nah, I disagree. It was an outrageous strike and, just because it's not something you see very often, it doesn't make it lucky. The intent was there in a flash of his mind. Was Cisse's curler against Chelsea just lucky? Or what about Shearer's volley against Everton? Yeah both of those could have ended up in Row Z but they didn't, and the fact that the intention for those goals came to fruition doesn't mean they were just lucky. Bruno's goal would have been lucky if he had just stuck his boot out to make any kind of contact but that's not what happened. The intention was there to clearly see. Cisse's goal was lucky, he admitted that he hit it an hoped, there was no intention to curl it over the Keeper and into the top corner. It was a hit and hope that ended up being the only trajectory and placement that would have ended up as a goal. Do you mean Shear's rocket against Everton or the stupid volley against Villa? The Everton one was definitely not luck, you saw Shearer hit rockets all the time, The Villa one had an element of luck on Schmeical's positioning but not the shot execution
Gallowgate Toon
He was a futsal player, aye? Got that customary 'roll the foot over the ball' thing going on. It's class to watch.

He may have struck plenty of rockets but the Everton volley was pretty unique in it's precision and technique. I have never seen the quote by Cisse saying that he fluked it mind. Link? Anyway, none of this distracts from the fact that Bruno's goal was all about technique and not luck.

No way he had any idea where that would end up - seemed to be hoping to flick it anywhere at goal or across goal. Bruno knew exactly what he was doing.... and did it. It was purely intentional, the luck comes from the fact that it could have easily gone in to the stands if he was positioned slightly differently, he could have totally missed it and looked Joelinton in the box in a heap on the floor legs all over the place. It's a brilliant goal, and spectacular to watch but it's not something that I think is practiced and 95 times out of 100 it doesn't work out. STM
Genuinely thought he struggled yesterday, especially in the first half. It wasn't so much what he could do with the ball in their half but more the way him and Shelvey dicked around with it in our half. There was however, a couple of moments where you could see his class. In particular at the end of the first half where he whipped a ball in, which Willock should have done better with. I want him to control games for us, that's what we need to see next.
sixx
On the whole he looked good last night. He's gonna need a few games to adjust to the pace, you're not afforded the same time on the ball as in Ligue 1.
Ikon
Yeah he struggled a bit and all that but at the same time i have seen enough glimpses so far so im 100% certain he'll be one hell of a player for us soon once he adapts properly. Then things will come more naturally for him.
Wild Geese
Who has the confidence to volley a back heel goal on his full debut I’m declaring it now, the lad will contribute to Winning us a Trophy !

iklgizmo
It reminded me of that Robert goal, I think against Fulham?? Did what he needed to do with his body to get the contact he needed! Pure class!

jackyboy
Showed some great touches and movement but was knackered after an hour and started to misplace passes. Just shows the pace of PL games. Once he's up to speed he'll be awesome

TRon
Interesting to read the various reports on his performance yesterday. I didn't see the game myself, but fans seemed to be split on here on the posts which I read in the match thread, but according to the Times reporter he was our best player. gbandit
Was definitely not our best player but he delivered a fantastic cross to Willock which should have been put away and scored a wonder goal. The rest of his play was hit and miss, gave it away cheaply a few times. I’d give him a 7, based on the overall performance because he didn’t control the midfield. He’s clearly going to be amazing though

He makes a noise when it goes in and laughs when he realises how he's put it in. 6m55: https://www.nufc.co.uk/nufc-tv/highlights/southampton-a-highlights-21-22/
