They really are a joy to watch these days. Unbelievably good tonight, phenomenal performance.

Fans are also fucking class too. Yet again. How do they keep on being so consistently class??

They're fuming with time wasting over on rtg. Obviously sunderland have never time wasted before, so they're rightly fuming with it.

Also Dan Neil is getting a bit of stick over there already, a little boy lost was 1 comment. Obviously there must be 2 Dan Neil's as the other 1  is worth 30 million if I remember rightly.

37k official crowd . How the fuck do they keep getting away with this every game. It's not even close

Their financial figures will be interesting. They often quoted bigger attendances in the PL and ended up with less matchday income as clubs with 10-12k less average attendance.

I think this season was their chance. They needed a fully fit Stewart for 2/3s of the season and they might have made it. Think they've missed the boat massively tbh. We should sign Patterson for the craic to be backup.

He's shite but to annoy them we could chuck him in the reserves

Have you ever seen a ground empty as quick as that? The game hasn't been finished five minutes and there's literally no-one left [emoji38]

Emptying quickly would mean it was full at some point.

Good point!

As the teams went off at half time, the camera panned up and you could see the entire upper tier, which is on two sides of the ground, was empty, apart from the Sheffield United fans.

Instead of begging them to go to games Niall Quinn should have just lied about the gates to Short and got him to subsidise them some more.  Missed a trick there.

Seen in the Bilbao thread our relationship with them is "apparently" - despite the first hand accounts and reports, video evidence, verification recently by both sets of fans, friendlies since, folklore and a documentary on Futbol Mundial about it.

But some tenuous link to them from over a 100years ago is like soul-mates

At best they're a lesser version of what Notts County are to Juventus because because at least Juve acknowledge Notts County.

Upper tier has been closed for donkeys, lower bowl holds 36000 I think.

Can't be more than 30000 there surely?

They had to claim an accurate attendance v Fulham in the FA Cup as the gate receipts are shared and it was 30k. Nowhere near that amount in tonight as it looked far emptier. 25k being generous. Not sure if it's just blatant lying or there's literally 10-15k ticket holders just not showing up.

They probably handed out enough extra tickets to make it 37k, or at least left them on a table somewhere in public, so that on some moral level they could justify saying 37k tickets had been "distributed".

The footballing equivalent of when you used to do a paper round and you'd just yark all the papers in a bush and go home.

Mate of mine today was telling me there’s loads of Manchester and London based “season card” holders that struggle to make midweek games. 🤦‍♂️🤣

Attendance is likely defined as something along the lines of 'being there'. Pretty simple.

Doubt the non attending ticket holding mackems are down the pub tonight talking about the game as if they were there, or are they?
