Sunderland recruited well in the Summer. Instead of the usual old "LeAgUe ExPeRiEnCe", which newly promoted teams usually get, they got some hungry players who are fighting them on.

However, their biggest advantage so far is...teams are completely underestimating them. Once teams stop that BS...they'll have a fight on their hands.

That style of recruitment can go either way really.

Fair play, they took advantage of the early fixtures and have carried on the momentum. Still think they'll be well down the league when they run out of steam though.

Don’t think teams are underestimating them. They’re just compact, and regularly getting their attacking moves correct and being lethal.

They’ll have a good season but the work comes in the summer when the reality of PSR hits. They either keep the squad together and give out big new contracts or sell and hope to have a similar hit rate again. Issue for both is they don’t have the income to support high wages and teams won’t sell to them on the cheap anymore. All it takes is a few expensive misses and they will be crippled by PSR for multiple seasons. As we have found out there are rules to stop upwards progression and status quo rules, their status quo is/was meant to be relegation.

It’ll be good to have the derbies back is what they said.

These lot will go straight back down with the lowest points ever is what they said.

Just checked the score and seen they scored with their first shot again, ridiculous goals per shots ratio, luck if you like but that illogical nature of football was reason enough to not wish it on yourself.

Not just newly promoted clubs. We spent £150m on Wissa, Ramsey and Elanga. Coz PL experience.
