We would have sold out for both games .

I hope we get Blackburn away in the next round. We'll sell out the 7,000 away end but there's a chance, a very small chance, but a chance that I'll be able to take my 9 year old son who's a member to his first away game.

Darn I hoped they would get through and then we get drawn against them to end this whatever days in a row nonsense.

That’s already ended, unless they’re counting draws, which would be absurd

That should bring them back down from their “promising start”. Watched the first 20min and both sides were reminiscent of the turgid Football we witnessed under Bruce.

They'll end up mid table or slightly lower, there’s 6 better teams than them down there easily.

Course they're counting draws. And its even more absurd than that because they don't count the ones we got in a 9 games 6 win streak against them in the 00s.

Another one they like is to compare our attendance v Reading in 2009 with theirs v Coventry last weekend (36k v 41k)

One was out lowest level for 16 years, one was their highest level for 4-5 years.

Fairer comparison would have been their first crowd after relegation from the Premier League...

29,000.

The fair comparison is to look at all attendances not just selective exceptions to the rule.

Which is why they don't look at those. Its not even competitive.

Mackems getting excpetions and rules inverted again.

But,  surely Wembo....   if no Wembo then they cant have another pat themselves on the back collection for a set of bewildered staff at a London Pub who wondered what the hell happened and what those strange people in red and white costumes were doing there.

The ironic thing about the league cup is about ten years ago the lesser teams had a chance to win it as the top six usually played reserve teams. The problem nowdays is Man Citys second XI can beat everyones first XI bar Liverpool.

We’re 46,980 days unbeaten since our first derby game vs Middlesbrough Ironopolis.  And while they were technically dissolved about 46,700 days ago, I think the achievement is no less impressive and definitely shows who are the NE Top Dogs

No CL teams in the League Cup and everyone's happy.

Absolutely this. Unfortunately it won't happen as the EFL and the sponsors would rather have Man City reserves in it than an exciting competition for the best of the rest.

Edit- bring back the Cup Winners Cup too. That would make the cup competitions a lot more interesting.

The only place they can fill is Trafagar Square …couldn’t even sell out the derby against us loads of times. Tossers

Claiming of an area south of the Tyne as sunlun territory, ownership reference, 1992ers and 2021ers all in one tweet. Impressive. The mackem commandments laid bare.
