Ex-Ashley hold over. Plus didn't he go on defending him doing punditry for Sky?

People like him, and Kevin Nolan on Talksport especially... turns out a few days later if Allardyce got the job (he was offered but turned it down because it wouldn't work the second time - forgetting it didn't work the first) then Nolan would have had a spot on the coaching team hence praising Ashley etc

Listening to the Andy Woodman episodes of Undr the Cosh and he couldn't be more of a cockney wideboy if he tried

I actually really enjoyed that one.

Would love for them to bring back the Half-Time Hero next season. Get the likes of Robert, Solano, etc back over.

Great shout that

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10712721/Newcastle-exploring-pre-season-trip-United-States.html

Newcastle United are exploring a pre-season trip to the United States this summer.

Sportsmail understands Minnesota is one destination being considered for a training camp and friendly matches.

Eddie Howe has already taken his squad to Saudi Arabia and Dubai this year, although both destinations would be too hot in July.

There are also commercial benefits of an American tour, with the club’s new Saudi-backed owners working to increase revenues across all departments.

Howe is also keen to foster team spirit with foreign getaways and, following January’s trip to Jeddah during which they met the Saudi owners, they returned to win five of their next six matches.

It is likely the team will return to Saudi at the end of the year, around the time of the World Cup in Qatar.

He was a really strange striker, Cisse. I feel like there was nothing he really excelled at but he had enough movement and finishing ability to nab a lot of important goals. We'd have gone down in 12/13 and 14/15 were it not for his contributions. But they were either side of a season where he scored like two times. Haven't even mentioned the bit at the beginning.

Aye. He scored 11 in 22 in 14/15. Feel like a lot of people think he was just good in that first mad stint, but a goal every two games is hard to come by.

Hopefully it's not as much of a shambles as the last one.

I went to the Portland game and the home staff were astounded by how half-arsed Newcastle was approaching their tour. No merchandise etc to sell and little to no communication.
