Snippet about our connection with Larne FC in Northern Ireland.

Quote

"This comes on top of the strategic relationship we were recently able to set up with Newcastle United's academy which will see our academy staff working with them."

Bruce explained that former Northern Ireland captain and Crystal Palace manager Iain Dowie, who works as a consultant for Larne, played an important role in attracting the investment.

"Iain has been responsible for a lot of the things we are doing. He opened up the dialogue with Newcastle and opened up the dialogue with these American partners.

"He is very intelligent, very articulate and passionate about football on and off the field. He has been a great sounding board for Tiernan and myself."

That's based on most appearances in each position rather than ability. Based on quality I'd go:

Perez (no alternatives)

Debuchy

Bernard

Distin

Goma

Cabaye

Sissoko

Ginola

Robert

Ben Arfa

Remy

That'd be tasty. You'd have to massively limit the opponents shots on target, like.

The absolute state of those Shay Given guesses

  Reveal hidden contents

Beresford, Babayaro, Duff, .... Tomasson!

What the fuck

How can he remember so little? He only played in two CL campaigns in his whole career (not even playing every game), and he can basically remember nothing of a last win? Just don't get it.

That is an absolutely fantastic initiative. Possibly the most important example of how the focus of the club on engagement with the community can make a meaningful  difference, not just in raising awareness but in normalising human experience and making it ok to talk about (perhaps particularly in men—75% of people who commit suicide are male; but males make up only a third of people who use Talking Therapy services).
