Dubs hasn't been the same since his last injury. Nowhere near as confident. I'm a bit sad for him, because he's been a good signing overall, and kept us up when he first signed.

The fulsome praise from those Burnley fans is very encouraging.

Dubs is also 33 and this season might be his last chance to get a decent contract elsewhere, maybe hes happy to stay and be a no.2 to wind down into his mid/late 30s but I'd say thats unlikely. He should go enjoy the rest of his career and make the most money he can.

Was talking about this the other day with a mate. He’ll be on by far the best money he’s ever been on and is easily the best Slovak keeper regardless of game time. I wouldn’t be surprised if he stays, he’ll still get games and if he’s settled here with his young family theres no real reason to move. Can’t imagine he’s the type to kick up much fuss either.

Think we need to keep him for at least a season. Personally think he’s been excellent overall since he came back into the team this season too.

Dubravka's very underrated on here I think. Being in a position where he's our number 2, pushing to start and at the very least pushing Pope to perform at his best is an excellent position to be in imo.

Aye. If he goes then the Pope signing is a lot less impactful. The big bonus of there being not much between them is that they'll push each other.

Me too. I think he struggled when we were all struggling, and it took a little longer for him to find himself again, but he was solid at the end of the season. But I do think Pope will give us what we need, in goal, to play how Eddie wants to play.

Been watching some of his compilation vids on youtube.

He seems to make just as many saves with his body as with his hands. He also doesnt seem to be particularly agile or have quick reflexes but hes actually deceptively good with both.

100 percent. No way he signs without being guaranteed number 1

I'd be very surprised if we gave any players any guarantees about playing. We didn't with Bruno. Why the hell would we do it with with Pope?

Obviously he'll be confident that he's good enough to keep Dubs on the bench, which I'm sure he is.

Really good signing, cracking value especially. Can't help but feel sorry for Dubravka though, he was one of our best signings in a long, long time. Really hope we don't sell him any time soon, as he'd be one of the best back up goalkeepers in the league.
