It's the term mega rich, which is the problem. We are theoretically rich but we don't necessarily have the cash on the hip to spend. Right now the club is trying to inject steroids into the commercial areas of the club, in order to have more coin to spend on players. It's hard, from the outside, to accurately perceive how far we have come in 12 months, money wise. When it all clicks in, we will be able to throw a bit of money on the situation but we don't know how far along in that process we are. Dr Jinx Posted January 9, 2023 Share Posted January 9, 2023 Regarding targets, look at our modus operandi.. there’s been a few where I think we wanted a deal but it became clear our priorities weren’t available. Botman was one, however we carried on and eventually got him. Other players we’ve been persistent with in terms of bidding have been Diaby and Maddison of course. That’s not even 6 months old yet so I think we go for both now or in the summer Ashworth isn’t picking the targets either, it’s Steve Nicksons strategy and if they are the no.1 targets and become available, we’ll go in for them.
