Village Idiot Posted March 8, 2020 Share Posted March 8, 2020 i've no issue with the rule* as long as it can't include activating a clause - without the rule leganes then have to balance the 18m or whatever they want for the player (can demand much more given the circumstances if the clause is rendered moot) vs. the risk of relegation *obvs better if they don't have it at all mind That would be seen as the league trying to circumvent worker rights and wouldn't stand on court. The reason we have transfer fees is that our courts ruled in the 1980s that sportsmen had the same right as any other worker to walk away from a job. The fees are an indemnity. It would be better if it didn't allow transfers, just signing free players or promoting players from your B team outside the allowed age range.
