The first 30 seconds or so of Out of Control by The Chemical Brothers always reminds me of the bird from Premier League Years. "In the month that Simply Red topped the charts with Fairground, it was Nottingham Forest who were on a rollercoaster ride after Pierre van Hooijdonk refused to play over a row about the club's transfer policy"

There's a spotify playlist of every song to have been used on Premier League Years, someone put it together over one of the lockdowns. Funnily enough it's called The Premiership Years.

If you hear Inner Smile by Texas and aren’t immediately transported to some early round Carling Cup exit are you even a football fan?

Ah love Texas and that song in particular. Lightening Seeds did a MOTD goal thing aye?

Spoiled bastards, plastic club, they don’t deserve what they have had the last half a decade or so. Despise them more than Chelsea these days.

Should be played just before Blaydon Races at SJP. The good version of Blaydon Races that is, not the current embarrassment that gets played.

Do they still play the fan-sang version? I loved the older one.

Jerk It Out's a good one. FIFA2004?

Lerdsa FIFA ones stand out from uni times, so 10 11 12. Ace Of Hz by Ladytron, Rhinestone Eyes by Gorillaz, Call It What You Want by Foster the People.

Painful nostalgia. What an amazing few years they were, certain they won't be topped.
