He’s right that the deal isn’t complete but that isn’t the case until everything is signed and the medical complete. It would be a really rare occurrence for Romano to post a ‘here we go’ if the deal wasn’t essentially done barring something unforeseen.

He’s literally just said ‘nowt happening’ and then had to scramble about when it turns out we’re (at the very least) in very advanced discussions over a £30m move for a player.

Our manager has just confirmed the deal isn't agreed, that is all there is to it.

Well it is possible for Eddie and Romano to be correct. There’s no way the club say anything until medical is done and contracts signed. Just have to look at the delay in the club saying anything on Botman for days whilst clearance was sought. They eventually had to say something to calm the panic brigade.

 

Looks to me like both parties have reached agreement but admin and medical to sort.

Not when it isn't done, no. And if he was having a medical there would be pictures of him at the ground arriving for his medical as there were with Botman, Pope etc.

 

People hate Edwards so they're not applying any logic to the situation.

 

Regardless of his past hit rate, on this occasion he was right and Romano was wrong. Howe has just confirmed it.

Think you're doing exactly that there tbh. There's nuance to this and I think you know that.

 

One thing's for sure now though, Romano's either full of shit OR he's a tap-in merchant, but he's definitely not both. Contradicting Brighton (Cucarella) and Howe (João Pedro) are the exact opposite of tap-ins.

The fact he's speaking about it at all tells you everything. Howe would never normally comment on other club's players at all normally, it must be more or less done bar tying up some loose ends.
