It is an absolute joke this.

 

Liverpool sniffing around Gordon a while back which ruffled a few feathers and obviously caused a bit of trouble for us, and now Isak.

 

I did expect Isak to be a bit more invested for us, if that's the word to use. It would have been good for him to at least make some noises about he is happy here and not looking to move, but something feels really off which isn't good.

 

I really, really do not know who we would replace him with if we sold him, genuinely not exited by any potential replacements.

 

This summer window has been an absolute shambles from start to finish. SHOULD have been a key, key window for us given we are back in the CL but it's been so poor.

They don’t, but it was groin all back end of season that R&R was option over surgery. ‘Thigh’ can be them diverting away from it being same issue, but it’s the inner part that didn’t recover as expected and after pre season started, it’s flared back up.

 

That’s surgery time because no R&R is capable now.

You.might be right in that he is damaged and we're hiding it. 

 

Unlikely. If we really want to hide it, just bring him to the tour and not playing him. We don’t have obligation to play our best players anyway.

This is great in Theory & I'd love to see it. But Eddie  howe will want him gone and the £200+ in PSR wiggle room (give or take);  to re-invest right now. 

 

Ultimately cutting off nose to spit your face isn't the right approach, even if it gives the player what they want.

Not really unrealistic.  Would equal the world record fee, but for arguably the best striker in the world (who has 3 years to run on his contract) in the most inflated transfer market in history.  I would like to see them argue it wasn't fair market value.

Unless his leg was hanging off he’d be there for sponsorship reasons, promotional opportunities etc. Clubs don’t fly to the other side of the world for the good of their players. If he’s not going to be fit enough to feature in any of the matches taking place over the next week and a bit then it’s more than a ‘minor’ injury.

 

Something isn’t right behind the scenes. Whether it’s Isak spitting his dummy out or a hard line being taken by Howe/the club I wouldn’t like to guess.
 

I’m not sure any of this means he leaves this summer, but it’s going to have implications for the start of the season at least.

Not great but bigger picture - we get someone like Sesko, a world class center half and a midfielder and we go into the season a lot deeper than we have been for a while. Isak is brilliant but he’s also streaky and went missing for the last month and a half of last season - there is other players out there.

Would have at least been smart to reference an injury on Saturday and not insist he would be on the plane. At least if he sowed the seed that he might miss the trip due to the groin issue, we wouldn't be freaking out today.
