OoOGazOoO
It is an absolute joke this. Liverpool sniffing around Gordon a while back which ruffled a few feathers and obviously caused a bit of trouble for us, and now Isak. I did expect Isak to be a bit more invested for us, if that's the word to use. It would have been good for him to at least make some noises about he is happy here and not looking to move, but something feels really off which isn't good. I really, really do not know who we would replace him with if we sold him, genuinely not exited by any potential replacements. This summer window has been an absolute shambles from start to finish. SHOULD have been a key, key window for us given we are back in the CL but it's been so poor.

They don’t, but it was groin all back end of season that R&R was option over surgery. ‘Thigh’ can be them diverting away from it being same issue, but it’s the inner part that didn’t recover as expected and after pre season started, it’s flared back up. That’s surgery time because no R&R is capable now.

Not joining sends a huge message and my best guess is he is playing hard ball (would say his agent but Alex is in charge in that relationship) re contract. Can’t see that landing well with Howe et al. Pretty shit if this is the case. And surely Liverpool give their expenditure to date couldn’t buy him as well as Ekitike, could they? If not then there’s either another suitor or it is pure spitting the dummy at not being allowed to go and/or a new contract power play. As I said, pretty shit. Darwin to Saudi for £200m, Isak to Liverpool for £130m. Leaves them enough to get Gordon or Tino then

If we really want to hide it, just bring him to the tour and not playing him. We don’t have obligation to play our best players anyway.

He was told last Summer one was coming, only for the club to renege. At some level blaming the agent and blaming the player become the same thing like. I never draw any distinction myself, if people are making terrible calls because they're allowing themselves to be terribly advised then it's on them

This is great in Theory & I'd love to see it. But Eddie howe will want him gone and the £200+ in PSR wiggle room (give or take); to re-invest right now. Ultimately cutting off nose to spit your face isn't the right approach, even if it gives the player what they want.

Pablo123
If he wants away, say the price is £200m, then turn down any bid from PL clubs. He's got 3 years left on his contract, the ball is firmly in our court.

Would equal the world record fee, but for arguably the best striker in the world (who has 3 years to run on his contract) in the most inflated transfer market in history. I would like to see them argue it wasn't fair market value.
christ
Unless his leg was hanging off he’d be there for sponsorship reasons, promotional opportunities etc. Clubs don’t fly to the other side of the world for the good of their players. If he’s not going to be fit enough to feature in any of the matches taking place over the next week and a bit then it’s more than a ‘minor’ injury. Something isn’t right behind the scenes. Whether it’s Isak spitting his dummy out or a hard line being taken by Howe/the club I wouldn’t like to guess. I’m not sure any of this means he leaves this summer, but it’s going to have implications for the start of the season at least.
Justdoesit
I think he’s away now, and I’ve not been of that opinion all summer. I just hope he doesn’t go to Liverpool, or anybody in the PL. £175m to Saudi please.
BennyBlanco
Not great but bigger picture - we get someone like Sesko, a world class center half and a midfielder and we go into the season a lot deeper than we have been for a while. Isak is brilliant but he’s also streaky and went missing for the last month and a half of last season - there is other players out there.
Zero
The problem is now by principle we shouldn’t offer him a new contract or else it would be a very bad precedent case for other players Man.
