And IF he wants to leave we won't be rinsing anyone. Be lucky to get 130m.

Yea about that. Hope PSG still willing to add a striker

I don’t think the market exists for him this summer now. Liverpool would have the fiscal headroom to do a deal but that means they’ve basically wasted £70m on Ekitike.

If we have a valuation we’ll stick to it you’d imagine. It’s a big season for any player wanting to go to the World Cup, so our hand is pretty strong. But it basically rules out any new contract and he’ll be away next summer for certain.

In hindsight, the fact that we were in for forwards who we wanted pre Isak (Pedro and Ekitike) does suggest we knew there was an issue with him - either injury or him wanting a move

Aye, I was curious at that time why would we play two ST together with very similar style, before knowing the contract issue

that said, it’s also strange that the club told Liverpool that Isak was not for sale if this is the case.

Muani coming in and money from PSG would probably be the best bet - absolutely honking if he signs for another Prem club. Didn't expect him to throw his dummy out like this but didn't really help with Howe adding fuel to the fire with the whole "sending him home to get his head right" and then saying he expects him on the flight. As a fan what can you expect when a player the manager said would be on the flight isn't on there?

Liverpool already snapping up Ekitike and then going on to get Isak too would seriously send me over the edge. That’s not just a gut punch; it’s way worse than the worst-case scenario I thought was even possible a few weeks ago.

This has been handled shockingly bad by the club. The optics alone show that Isak wants out. We won a trophy last season- so thank you very much Isak! Now let’s get 150m for him and continue on. Unfortunately we are never going to be able to keep our best players it the current climate unless they really really want to be here. Onwards and upwards

If he wants to go then so long, thanks for the time you gave us.

He will be hard to replace but not impossible.

We need players who actually want to play here.

Again that's IF he wants to go.

It's PSR rules working as the cartel expected - we are not allowed to challenge and this is our punishment.

Has to be the move. He cannot stay in the Premier league. He just cannot.

Worth noting Coutinho was sold for £146 million and that was 7 years ago now?

Liverpool really fleeced them and won the jackpot on that deal. I don't think we can get that price for Isak, even with inflation, especially if he is looking to move.

If he is for sale them we definitely need to start an auction process. I dont see him going anywhere other than the scouse though. Galling.

all we can hope for is PSG, there is no other market if he has no interest in saudi

Doesn't say a lot for PSR either. Not to mention they've also bought two new elite FBs and Wirtz for 100m.

"If" this isn't just a coincidental injury and there's something in this, we need a deadline on any sale. It needs to be within the next week really. Would be an absolute shambles if we sell him late in the window and find ourselves desperately scrambling for a striker.
