Alexander Isak: has a chance to play against Everton (Howe)

Recommended Posts

Seems like every few days his return gets delayed by a few days. He's perpetually 2 weeks from returning.

Very frustrating as the club clearly know how long he's actually out for, but are not saying. I absolutely understand why that is, but it is frustrating as a fan.

He is going to be like a new signing as he's barely featured and it hardly seems like he's our player up until now.

Thankfully that won't be used as an excuse to not look to strengthen further in January.

I decided to re-watch a few compilations of his body of work pre joining us and my goodness, once fit and flying we’re going to have an insane talent on our hands. His dynamism and explosiveness on the ball is absurd.

Injury returns aren’t an exact science. Of course it’s frustrating he’s been injured at all, but I trust the current regime to manage it properly and get him ready.

Sure they’ll also be using the time to discuss his role with him and get him ready to integrate straight away.

These days you know it’s all under control, that’s the main thing.

I guess also with the intensity of our play and the greater pressing expectations from our forwards, he needs to be 'more' ready, otherwise he'd just break down again, unlike a typical target man who has less emphasis on sprinting.

Hopefully he's back for the Arsenal-Sheff Wed turnaround if he can't make the squad for Leeds as I can't see Howe playing Wilson in all 3 of the League Cup, PL and FA Cup and we all know what Chris Wood is like. Play Wilson at Arsenal and in the League Cup, Isak against Sheff Wed and Fulham. Fitness permitting of course.

What's actually wrong with him ?

Thigh muscle injury which he re injured and therefore why they’re being extra cautious. Howe says he’s back running and kicking a ball so he’s probably close to full training and they’ll probably want a couple of weeks of that. I think he might return in some capacity for FA cup match and then hopefully Fulham home which is 3 weeks away.

Id rather they were extra cautious and not bring him back too early. Must’ve been really difficult for the lad so the fans will be really important when he returns.
