The club has clearly been preparing for this since the season ended. We were absolutely never going to buy Joao Pedro or Ekitike as back up striker for 60 odd million or suddenly changing tactics to play two up front. We’re in deep shit now and this sends a troubling message internally and externally. Being a bit of an idiot I am however clinging to the hopeful notion that offloading your best player can sometimes improve the squad. Liverpool did it after selling Coutinho and PSG look miles better without Mbappé, Neymar and Messi. Villa improved after selling Grealish as well. This is probably quite rare though. I sincerely hope the rest of the players are resentful towards Isak.

Novocastrian
Liverpool’s whole approach to undermining our club and destabilising Isak only works if the player starts creating so I’m 100% blaming Isak for this - he can get fucked, he’ll go on to become a hated figure in NUFC folklore like Mike Ashley and Michael Owen. He’ll get his 300k a week though. Edited July 24, 2025 by Novocastrian
HawK
Isak to Chelsea and we get Delap on loan and be thankful for the generosity of such a big club helping us out.

It has to be Sesko or an equivalent in stature/profile to recover any lost momentum. The fact is that nobody comes close to being a replacement, but that's the pile of shit we find ourselves in. We can only hope that someone (not Liverpool or Chelsea though, they can get fucked) stumps up something close to his value. Or He stays until next summer and is professional enough not to down tools. Giving us time to line up a possible replacement. If he leaves though, all striker prices go up for us because the other clubs know we have 'Isak money'. It's a horrible predicament we've been put in. Thanks again Alex 👍, not remotely a dick move. To think I apologised for my Saturday outburst against him. I feel totally justified now.

Aye, no one can bemoan a player for wanting to do their best in a relatively short career, much like Howe alluded to, however there are ways and means of exploring those options and biting the hand that feeds you is not one of them, yes he owes us no loyalty but he does owe us the respect he's been afforded since he joined. Im not sure. If the player's agent thinks/knows others could ve interested (by which I mean alerts and sounds out, leaks direcrly and to the press) and others come in. You can try to be as quick as you want, the larger bids win . Just re read and you mean getting i reinforcements and yeah I agree. healthyaddiction
Honestly, I'm not sure if it's allowed in the rules, but if it is I could easily see Chelsea offering Delap as part of a deal for Isak. Didn't really watch the CWC but it looked like Joao Pedro immediately became the preferred striker.
Nucasol
Chelsea coming in is helpful. It puts pressure on the grim Scouse wankers over the fee and doesn’t give them a free run.

Nah, we're more than Isak like, we have many brilliant players in our team. We could start with our strongest team but put Mark Gillespie up top and we'd still beat Sunderland. If he wants away then so long it’s been a joy to have you play for us. The concern is how we would spend any money given the snails pace we move at. Cluster fuck upstairs atm this. We signed Wissa yet? I'm hoping the time it takes for us to conclude deals is because we need to be extremely careful with what we spend to stay on the right side of psr. The first january and summer windows after the takeover when we didn't have this constraint to the same degree things happend fairly quickly as far as I can recall.
