Which players?

Modric, Kane, Ronaldo, Suarez gave it all despite having moves turned down.

You've give the exact same examples that were just given. I'm saying they are the exception, not the rule.

If you think Isak staying mean he will give 100% then that's fine. But I don't see it.

Training away from the group can be what he wants all he likes. Likewise considering his Newcastle career over can be his stance all he likes.

Let's see how quickly that stance would change if we told him fuck you you're not going to Liverpool unless you fancy it in 2028.

"You are free to go...

...to Liverpool...

...in 2028!"

I reckon he'll stay, as we've not offered a pay rise, but the club will tax his car for him for 12 months.

He’s agents probably got a blue badge for his injury and can park he likes now too.

OK.

Messi, Rooney, Coutinho, Van Dijk, Mbappe, Gerrard, Drogba, Tevez.

Players of that calibre always come back to the fold for the year if their getaway fails.  The closest to not doing that was Tevez when he flounced off to Argentina for 4 months, but even he came back and played a vital role in the title race.

They have to if they want that move to still be available at the same (or higher) level of club and wages the next year.

They all refused to train/play and went missing for almost a week did they? I appreciate you have hope, but it's over, he's going, he may as well go now.

I think only Tevez refused to play etc from that list.

I think Isak got his head turned by Liverpool and 1only wanted Liverpool. I suspect other clubs knew this but also Chelsea aside I don’t think other clubs could afford him.

my logic in this case is we appear to be going for cheaper targets which doesn’t make sense. 2.We passed on Thaiw to chase Guehi all summer last year but this summer when we apparently have money we go for the cheaper target. Also John McGinn? Again I cheap option. 3. Does anyone believe if we had money to spend we’d be going for a 31 year old John McGinn ?

1. Romano, is that you??

2. On Guehi, you don't think Liverpool will try to get him as soon as we make a move, right? They linked with him.

3. So we will take Hope's word for it now that we are after McGinn? And McGinn will not come cheap. Villa will want atleast 30m to 40m. He is their captain, leader.

For what its worth, Easy Ryder saying club will make a decision today on Isak re-joining the main group in training, and being part of the weekends friendlies.

Won’t you help me sing, this redemption song?

1. In this instance I think it’s true. They’ve done a number on him. Turned his head

2. Liverpool are working on the Isak deal and it won’t be cheap. We should be at least testing the water if he goes to Liverpool so be it but I don’t think they could afford Isak & Guehi without their sales. Are you suggesting we just give up and go for a cheaper inferior player because Liverpool are interested

3. Why not believe Hope? McGinn started the least amount of games last season in his whole Villa career spending more games on the bench than any other season too and approaching 31 I don’t think it would take anywhere near £40m to get him.

edit: just to add if we do in fact spent anything near £30-£40m on a 30 year old John McGinn then we have seriously fucked it and lost the plot. McGinn is the definition of ‘cheap option’
