Are respectful and amazing operators Liverpool going to bid then

They're mucking Isak around whilst getting the transfer done. That's not in the rule book

This is just how transfers work nowadays though unfortunately. The issue here is how Isak and his agent have reacted, blaming Liverpool for that is like blaming us for Wissa going on strike in my opinion.

Maybe it’s time for a reset?

Sign Wissa and do t sell him. Keep him until January just in case there’s an injury.

He also needs to hand a transfer request in or goes nowhere.

fuck this £130 mill etc

Let him rot for a few months on principle and hope they get an injury to a forward

My approach would depend on what we think we can get done before the window closes. If we know we can get Wissa and Andrey Santos or Gallagher with the money, then I’m ok flogging him for 135m. If it would only be Wissa, then I want more.

From Liverpool’s perspective this transfer is all about ego IMO. Ekitike has fit perfectly into their team and is scoring goals, Isak will shift him out to the left. It might still work but it’s really unnecessary. They need a backup forward, not a 135-150m forward.

I really want to think that his game will regress without Howe's coaching and it will end up being a memorable overpay, but I do also think he's fucking legit.

The reality is that none of the outcomes are good, so I can see why a case for huge transfer fee and remove toxic presence is plausible.

Still can't see how we sanction selling him to Liverpool for £130m without coming across as really weak.

I'd like to think your Tonali's and Livramento's of the world wouldn't pull these kind of stunts but to sell to Liverpool without really taking them to the cleaners is just to tell players that this approach works.

Reflects my own thoughts on this matter…

I can’t believe we’ve come this far and not a single journalist has asked the question if Isak wants the move so badly has he or will the club make him put in an official transfer request.

Baldwards makes a very valid point about this being a cave-in if we sell below 150 mind

Came to us with basically no pressure.  With this huge fee and this god awful epic transfer saga there's going to be a huge amount of scrutiny on him if he has any struggles with form or injuries and starts looking like Andy Carroll Mk II.  Seems like that would require someone with very strong character to deal with and not let it affect them and not, for instane, a sulking little snake.

This whole carry-on has shown him to be an absolute fucking coward of the highest order. Hopefully his antics will have riled opposition fans up to a point he gets grief from them on the regular.

Get under the cunt's skin.

I can see it now.

CL quarter finals. Newcastle vs Liverpool, the return of Isak.

Booed to kingdom come.

Newcastle win 4-3 over two legs

Would love to get sweet revenge in that way even if we get knocked out in the semis
