Yorkie
Just watching Russell Martin's post-match interview. Love it when (usually newish) managers pretend they're not slagging off their team by showing a pretence of accountability. "It's on me that I picked these shit players, it's on me that I couldn't get the message through to their thick skulls!!" David Craig: omg you're so brave for this, Russell. Segun Oluwaniyi
It is incredible how low stakes these Champions League group matches feel with this new format. Arsenal play PSG tonight, and I am not even sure of the relevance of this game. Both sides will likely go through with ease and they seemingly aren't even really in direct competition with each other. The previous format was stale, but at least if two teams of this quality were grouped together, one side losing both matches would put them under real pressure in the other four; topping the group was also a real objective they would be competing against one another for. A 36 team group where you play 8 randomly assigned matches to knockout only 12 teams. Who devised this foolishness? I still don't even feel like watching.

If UEFA's intention was to demonstrate how shit a European Super League would be then it's clever But it does seem a much worse format, a neutral wants to see teams competing against each other directly instead of whatever this is. Saying that I wouldn't have minded seeing Newcastle in it as it's more games, against more varied opposition, with a better chance of qualifying for the knockouts. Yorkie
I was open minded towards the new format but it's taken one round of it for me to realise it's garbage.
midds
The only good news is that the larger clubs can't afford to ease up for the last 2 fixtures like they have been able to. Previously if a team wins the first 4 games they're basically through as winners and can start rotating players and probably drop a few points in the process. Now they can't really afford to do that. They will all want to be in that top 8 to get the bye and they'll need to win as many games as possible as the competition will be fierce, they'll not be able to ease off as another club will leapfrog them and pip them. Fully expecting a few utter drubbings as teams will look to pad out their GD as a tie-breaker if need be
TRon
We must have got the unluckiest draw in an outdated format to get knocked out in the first round last year. It seems virtually impossible to go out in normal circumstances.
Astroblack
Saw some Arsenal fans saying they're more concerned with their weekend match against Southampton than this. What a way to ruin what was once a beautifully formatted competition.

It’s what I’ve said all along, great for a fan who’s involved, but nobody else will give a shit. I barely watched the CL anyway if we didn’t qualify, this has just nailed the coffin shut. Pokerprince2004
Hilarious watching Celtic on the receiving end of what they usually dish out in the SPL. Fans need taken down a peg or two after giving it the biggun against Bratislava last week and realise they are seen as the shit making up the numbers like their fans see St Johnstone and Motherwell in Scotland As an aside just saw an advert for Fiorentina v TNS on Thursday in Florence? Haha thats not the Welsh team is it?! jesus how did they manage to get into europe

Lush Vlad
The new CL format still seems like utter shite, to me. No idea why they changed it. I mean, I do. But it’s still shit.
