Can see why the penalty was given. Yes he tried to move his arm but don't lean into the ball.

But the deflection is where I'd probably give the defender the benefit of the doubt.

Who would you guys want to see relegated?

Liverpool, Sunderland and Everton for me.

Understandably, you can swap Arsenal and Sunderland for me. Added bonus of one of those three having to deal with the playoffs on the way back up and a chance they don’t make it.

I would be up for that. I've not had to think about Sunderland for so long and I reckon Arteta has helped accelerate the hatred.

I know he only played 20 mins, but how did he do?

Games was honking but probably the best player on the pitch. Never lost the ball once but every time he gave it to a team mate they lost it or passed backwards. It's gonna be a real noticeable drop for him from the quality of his old teammates.

He's probably sitting on the bus now thinking....Arrested Development Mistake GIF

Grealish won’t lose his ability to buy fouls and to shield the ball well. He’ll also probably enjoy the freedom of actually being able to play rather than having to rigidly stick to what the manager wants. His issues are probably more to do with how motivated he is and how much he enjoys his life out of football. It’ll be demotivating for him to play well individually but see his teammates mess up opportunities that should result in goals. Think he’ll still be their second best player this season but they’re going to really struggle to get above 15th

Surprised to see how much controversy there is around that penalty.

Yes his arm is by his side, but he moves his entire body towards the ball. As soon as it misses his body and hits his arm, that makes it a penalty. If he'd stayed in an upright position he'd have been fine.

Never a penalty for me.

Leeds the better side but still, I'd be furious if that was given against us.

If it was given for us, I'd be delighted but still think we'd gotten a dodgy decision our way.

Neither team looked like they could score in open play, though.

He's surely allowed to block the ball by leaning into it, though?

Oh, I don't know. I've had a long day and a glass of wine. Don't normally disagree with you but it seemed very harsh to me.

Off to watch Alien Earth series instead, and see if Peter Walton can make sense of the football side of things by agreeing with whatever it is the referee has done in the paper tomorrow.
