I beg to differ

What did you make of Richarlison's performance on the whole?

I could kind of see him having a bit of a resurgence and be a serviceable back up under Frank, looks like you got more crosses into the box which he benefitted from.

Or do you think you'll still look to move him on and get another striker in to rotate with Solanke?

For 30 mins.

Didn't do a lot.

Cheers for replying. I think Schesko was a massive miss for us. He was the one. Instead, he's going to make multi millions of pounds at a non descript team.

Gyokeres and Sesko are both good players, imo, but they have been put in situations of extreme pressure. They might fail simply due to circumstance. Sesko hasn't been anything more than "promising" in Bundesliga and now he has to lead the line for the most scrutinised team in England. I also did not understand the clamour for Viktor from "top" teams. He would be a great signing for an upper mid-table side, but I am not confident at all he will succeed at Arsenal with the role and expectation he will have.

Göykeres scored more than a goal a game in Portugal, of course he was going to attract the top teams

Heard more than one person say that was his best performance for us, and I think there’s a solid argument for that. It was Burnley at home tbf. Still, he was terrific both on and off the ball and heavily involved in all the goals.

Frankly, I think before PSG the majority of fans would have been happy to sell him. He seems like a lovely guy and gives his all but he’s made of crisps. He wears his heart on his sleeve but all his limitations as well. You never totally feel like he’s knows what he’s doing, a very hard worker but not as natural a footballer as some.

And yet. If Frank can use rotation to keep him upright, who knows? He’s desperate to get back in the Brazil team this year (World Cup) and might be in a side that plays to his strengths - particularly if we can get Savinho and/or Eze. He’s had his first proper pre-season with us and there’s that underlying feeling that Frank knows how to make the best of what he’s got. We’ve been here before though. Fully expect him to break down with some new injury the day after the transfer window shuts and be out until February.

If he can avoid injury he’ll absolutely be serviceable. He seems to be in a good place mentally which feels more important for him than most players. I certainly don’t think we’ll get somebody else in at this point, there is speculation that Frank will turn Brennan Johnson into more of an out-and-out forward to provide more cover there. He’s already turned down Saudi apparently which says a lot about his character and I can’t see anybody throwing enough money at us to make it worth our while right now.

Will be interesting to see how Simeone gets on this year. Has spent over 1.5 billion Euros in transfer fees over the course of his time at Atleti.

And he’s earned loads - circa 30m a year

Reijnders looked excellent for City. Annoying that Pep knows exactly what he wants/needs and City have the muscle to just get it done (and are also unburdened by the “rules.”

There’s a handful of clubs in world football that are playing career mode in real life and they’re one of them.

Ffs, of course something like that happens when I'm actively avoiding the Sky bullshit until kick off

Cut back early from the ad break to Neville saying about Leeds fans ‘they’re the one set of fans I wouldn’t want to go anywhere near’
