  1. 1. How likely are we to finish top four this season? 0 = nee chance, 5 = can’t call it, 10 = nailed on marra

Throwing the last champions league game when we have a decent chance at qualifying is absolutely wild [emoji38] Even if you think we'd be out next round  winning tomorrow and going though would net us around £10m.

Agreed. Which itself is as much as 25% of what qualifying for the CL basically gave us. Never mind the sporting side of it too.

Not to mention if we did go through the knockouts would be in the new year - we'd likely have a stronger squad injury-wise and with January reinforcements. Not saying we'd be favourites by any means, but over 2 legs we'd give anyone a damn good go. If the PSG games were a 2-leg knock out we'd have won that 5-2. If we go through we'll have beaten Milan on aggregate too. We're not here to make up the numbers.

Newcastle join Man United in crashing out. The gap grows as Germany and Italy pull away -- and Italy keep a full bank of 7 teams. Only top 2 get a 5th place in UCL

1. Germany 13.36

2. Italy 13.14

3. England 12.13

4. Spain 12.06

5.France 10.42

so yes, all what we need is Arsenal, City going very far in CL now, semis at least

Liverpool i way superior to 95% of clubs in EL, they should go very far as long as they dont opt to reducre their schedule and "opt" out from it to fight for PL title rather than having Thursday games every week.

Brighton, WHU hopefully makes a good run until last 8 at least sending out Spanish, Italian or German clubs along the way.

And Villa as per their current form should go and rip the third cup series apart.

not sure its doable but maybe.

Villa, Spurs,  MU and us* are in absolute fight for 4th and 5th. we may need 5th to be a CL place if we want to get back next season. (*unless Chelsea somehow starts winning)

I still think top five is a big ask - and frankly if we win a cup, I don’t give a shite if we finish top four / five or not.

Our only chance of a cup is the FA Cup, there's no way Liverpool don't win the Carabao

Everyone said the same about City last season and Southampton knocked them out. The cup is the cup. Anyone can win it. Well maybe not Port Vale.

Liverpool play West Ham next, a very strong cup team.

Aye and we play Chelsea, a Chelsea team who know winning this trophy is probably their only chance of European football next season. Which would then mean 1 less place league wise for the Europa as Chelsea are not finishing top 6

You genuinely think Chelsea want to win the cup to get into the conference league ?
