Lewis Miley: signs six-year contract extension (Official)

This think about forward passes, how can anyone know that it wasn't an instruction given to him?

I noticed he was always looking for the pass to Tonali, I wondered whilst watching if that was part of the plan.

It's depressing how thick so many people are on social media. Doesn't help that the mainstream media seems to pander to the thickos in general.

Proper knuckle draggers.

As soon as we fail to win a game, all the mouth breathers come out in force. Everyone is shite according to them and they're going to let everyone know it.

Local lad, giving his all for the club, living the dream.   Discrace the stick he is getting from so called fans.  Need more young lads coming through, it's the bedrock of the club.

Always the same ones, live their NUFC life through twitter. Glory seeking knobheads who expect to win every match and if we dont, everyone is shite etc etc.

The rhetoric around Miley is unhinged. Played away to a very good Bournemouth pressing side that’s had our midfield number last time out, and he wasn’t out of place. This is on back of coming into the starting XI cold too, where his confidence won’t be super high.

He’s going to be a very good player for us.

Just wish he'd take the game by the scruff of the neck more often. Demand the ball, be a bit more adventurous with it. Smash into some cunt, show a bit aggression. Not to go full Roy Keane, but ye knaa.

Doing just that tonight and looks the best player on the pitch imo.

Class.

This half has kind of proven to me the whole "he doesn't pass forward" thing is tactical, or atleast him following tactical instructions to the letter. He's played a load of line breaking balls throughout, and little intricate passes which break their press, and it's not coincidence that's come in the one game that he's playing that Tonali role.

Or that playing against players he knows he's miles better than, gives him the confidence to do it?

Some of his forward passing has been really slack though. Lovely ball over the top to Osula, mind.

What I’ve liked about him this game. Is how determined and mobile he has looked. Getting back loads and covering a lot of ground. Popping up everywhere.

I know it is hard to gauge because of the opposition. But I love that he seems a bit more aggressive and purposeful.

Certainly agree that he is better in the deeper role and have thought so for a while. He gets lost in the wider role. But it isn’t a position where anyone seems to shine in Howe’s system. Even Bruno fades in and out of games. Tonali struggled there. Big Joe is brilliant at it. But it’s like the position has been tailor made for his skillset.

I thought he was one of our best players against Bournemouth as well, handled their press better than some of our more experienced players.
