Wonder what all those who thought he should've been at the Kassam Stadium this weekend instead are thinking.

 

One game doesn't make a season but he has shown he'll develop here and can give the team very good minutes and performances in the black and white.

Him and Bruno were superb linking up today. Tonali if he can slot in on left side for Joelinton, and we could have a running midfield. 
 

We all feel we needed a CDM, and Miley can fill that for rest of season and allow Bruno freedom to be closer to opposition box more.

I’ve said I think that’s a good combo but Miley has to do a bit more defensively to be a starter at 6 imo. Not saying he hasn’t got it him long term but we need to see more bite. Use his size more in shoulder to shoulder contact. 
Made some nice tackles and sneaky ball steals today. Baby steps.

So happy he finally got his chance and grasped it with both hands. More of that please son. We spanked a team without Sandro away from home and it's largely due to how well Miley play.

Pretty outrageous that he is able to have that kind of effect on the team at his age.

 

As a few others have mentioned already, it's good he did not go out on loan, because he is good enough right now to contribute, and being in the first team and getting these opportunities is going to pay off big time in the future.

I didn't pay enough attention with the starting line up and didn't realise that anyone was missing until I saw Tonali on the bench at half time. Full credit to Miley for that imo.

A special talent, he’s arguably got a higher ceiling than Anderson.

 

Could we have nurtured two homegrown midfielders with this talent and kept both? I’m not so sure. 
 

Anderson is there now yes, and it feels horrible, but let’s not lose this kid too.

Thanks to players like Miley we can rotate our best players and still win games. Just need depth at full back now and I would be confident resting any of our starting eleven and still winning games

Seemed like he was almost out of favour the last few weeks or so. Then got minutes midweek, albeit out of position.
 

Then a bit out the blue, considering Willock played so well midweek and Ramsey has shown glimpses. He gets the nod last night and makes us all wonder why he’s not been playing more.

Started the champions league against Benfica and looked super, its just surprising how long it took to start him again.

This is where I disagree. I understand he’s better more advanced, but he’s calm ball playing and physical height will make him a natural CDM in years to come. Already knows what he’s going to do with the ball before he receives it which is the elite thing you need from a CDM. It’s just the defensive awareness and aggression, which will come in time.

It's not just maturity beyond his years it's also versatility way beyond his tender years too and still so much to come in an attacking sense as his game grows and he starts to express himself more.

Yesterday, or what he does in the future, really shouldn't surprise anyone, he was putting in strong performances against top class opposition two years ago as a 17 year old.

Since then he's been playing very much to instruction in his limited game time.
