Lewis Miley: signs six-year contract extension (Official)

Recommended Posts

That is pure filth.

100% completed passes you'd think they were all backwards. Half of them seemed to involve ripping a guy or squeezing past 3 players

Comment made me laugh

Eddie: whats your best position lad
Miley: Yes

Big fan of his little one-two with himself casually leaving some poor cunt wondering where he went

Just decided that he doesn’t trust passing to some of our other players so will pass to himself instead. Can’t knock him for it

It's tough. If it ain't broke, don't fix, but I think he's ready to move back to midfield and really make an impact. His ball carrying from deeper is exceptional though.

We need to rotate anyway TBF. Tino coming back in moves Miley to CM and Tonali can go boil his heed for a bit.

Right back tomorrow night for me whilst Tino eases back. Then a back four of Tino - Botman - Schar - Trippier for the cup game to give some much needed rest to some of these players, then get Miley back in the team for the City game either at RB or CM and then back to CM in the next league match.

The lad is going to be a superstar!

how good is that reel man, looks completely at home. Plays with his head up,not many 19 year olds have shown that kind of progress. I bet Tuchel has his eye on him and all

Only downside I think is that he's nailed every female member of JonBez's family

Ha!!

Have to admit he was excellent on Sunday (again)

Like him at right back as he rarely gives the ball away and you can see him grow in confidence every week.

i would keep him at Right back for his ability to keep the ball alone (Tino loves a wayward pass)

Would love a proper upgrade at RW, as Miley could feed him all day long

Hope he makes me eat my words and eventually hits the heights as a holding midfielder - for many years to come

His passing has been genuinely impressive for ages, and its good to see him a bit more confident in driving forward with the ball now. And in his tackling, too. I think this period at RB is actually going to be really beneficial for his overall development and maybe see him as a number 6 option which will make @Shak happy.

I often thought he was quite safe with his passing.  Even though it was neat and tidy and mostly accurate.  But from right back, he seems to have found a new confidence.  Regulrly passing forward, I suppose you sort of have to from there , breaking lines, causing more problems with his passing.

I've been more impressed with his footwork and ability to play out of trouble himself.  He has a really nice sort of Fabregas move where he comes to the ball, feints and does a 90 or 180 to turn away and make some space.  Sometimes without even touching the ball.  Quick feet 2-3 times against Palace and in other games, too.  No idea what the kids call it, but right to left/vice versa to make room to then dribble away with it once the defender has over-committed.

The more I think about it.  Being more calm and safe on the ball in our current midfield setup wouldn't be a bad thing.  It's always 100MPH and we lose it far too often.  I've always thought he looked best centrally.  But then that might waste some of the attributes mentioned above and also his shooting ability.  Bruno does alright getting goals, mind.  He often seems to be a bit of a hybrid between the two roles.

La Croqueta (Iniesta) is I think what you're talking about?

DE had absolutely zero time for plodders. Made a quick exit when he saw a 19 year old not play as well as Tonali in a handful of minutes over a tiny sample size of games. Dat DE knows his own mind

Wonder what ever happened to David Edgar?

Honestly hope he's ok. There's been a number of opportunities to be relentlessly negative since August.

Hes so much braver with his passing.

I noticed that recently as well after screaming for him to just have a bit more belief in himself.

Who'd have thought it, a teenager would need a run of games to learn how to adapt to the Premier League [emoji38]

Let's me honest if he wasn't homegrown and had come in as a rated, expensive foreign kid, you wouldn't have complained about him at all previously.
