Shame that… overall we didn’t perform badly really… it’s the missed chances that are a real worry.

We were looking decent until Trips gave the ball away for the second goal. Fancied us to get back into it before that.

Nevermind…anything here would have been a bonus.

FFP meant we had roughly £50m to spend - I’m genuinely curious, who would you have went for / which positions?  Any change would mean Gordon not coming in of course.

We didn’t do any speculation, we have apparent deals ready to be announced. Not every top player needs to be a 50m one and there’s clearly needs we didn’t address.

Felt we were decent today actually. Just the same old, now infuriating problem of putting the ball in the net.

Loyalty to Wilson, Burn and probably Almirón is hindering us now. Targett, Isak, ASM and either Gordon or Murphy to start please.

Next week is absolutely huge now.

Murphy looked good when he came on..what a difference it makes whipping in balls on the overlap. When tripper overlaps almiron we always have a chance but when almiron overlaps tripper it gets checked back.

Think Murphy deserves a chance.

The whole issue is just totally disarming, it's basically pointless critiquing anything else about the performance because the missing of chances is so influential.

Gordon, Longstaff, Wilson and then Joelinton - each one more gilt-edged than the last.

Not to go over old FFP ground, but if that’s true, that’s ridiculous we get £50m when Chelsea spend ten times that :anguish:

The first early goal conceded had us cooked.

We never looked like coming back

Don't agree at all. We could've scored three between the first and second goal. Just maddening.

Team needs to start being picked on form rather than reputation/familiarity, I'm not sure how Howe is justifying starting Wilson over Isak at the moment, and others to a lesser extent. It's not current form or results. If players underperforming aren't replaced at least temporarily, where is the fire under them to perform, and what message does that send to those not in the first XI ?

Yep, we should really be talking about how the plan worked and we got a good result.

Chelsea partially negated it by offering insane eight-year contracts - they also have an income about three times larger than ours

Didn't they also get some weird accounting by the club being sold in the way that it did ?
