Why is it Milan’s and not tonali’s fault? He could have offered us the info but would have chose to keep his mouth shut.

If Milan knew and said fuck all then Milan should have made the club aware……….they should be sued.

Can the FA even ban him if he wasnt playing here at the time?

Trippier got banned in Spain despite his ‘offence’ (which was fairly ridiculous) occurring whilst he was playing here.

Depends if the Italian FA decided to issue a ban I suppose.

His offence was legit against the rules and cheating. But he did it as a Spurs player which is why I think the FA was the ruling party.

I don't think it's enforceable and would create a black market. But in a perfect world, I would ban gambling. It's a massive net negative to society.

I don’t have an issue with gambling in casinos and I don’t have an issue with people gambling on sports. I just don’t think there should be a single bit of advertising allowed in any media and there should be major regulations in place to stop betting agencies exploiting vulnerable people. I think gambling on the sport you play in any form should just be a blanket ban

I guess any punishment, if he's found guilty will depend on the extent and number of bets, and how long its been going on for.

Trippier - seemingly one text to his mates to 'lump on' his tranfser to Athletico = fine + 10 week worldwide ban (implemented by The FA).

Toney - over 200 charges of bets made = fine + 8 month worldwide ban.

I would think the rules on betting would be the same across all FIFA leagues and competitions. So even if this was all done during his time in Italy and prior to joining us, then any ban would still be worldwide.

We are always the last 30 seconds of an Eastenders episode no matter what era we are in.

In terms of betting offences committed by footballers, it’s a surprise this kind of headline isn’t happening every week in professional football.

In terms of Tonali, I’m sure we will find out more quite quickly about what has gone on.

I'm not sure about the FA but FIFA can from all football related activities worldwide for up to 3 years.

Presumably, if Milan knew then Tonali did too. Also, given the strictness of Italy's rules on this, it would make him a bit daft.

That's all totally hypothetical of course if there's even anything at all behind this, which nobody knows. Think I'll wait till whatever investigation is done and we know what (if anything) has happened.

If there's anything serious, I might get so furious I'll knock half a point off my transfer window score so help me.

As I posted a while back the restrictions on gambling in Italy for players are more restrictive than over here. If he bets on a Serie C match he’s breaking the rules there. If it’s not breaching the rules here I can’t see them punishing him.

Hard to say until there is more details.

Wouldn’t have thought there would be any comeback on Milan at all if they did know, unless they admitted knowledge of it or Tonali did, which isn’t likely at all. Not too sure if you’re obliged to admit to wrongdoing with no conviction, but will probably stand corrected on that.

The fact that billionaire Denise Coates pays herself between £200-420m per year says all you need to know about who the real winners are from gambling
