Howay man. 120m and 350k a week he’s not choosing us over that

My heart says yes as he's a Geordie but my head says No.

None of this is from Romano though, he’s just repeating it. We can hate on Romano but Spurs want him and are willing to pay as they know they have to go above and beyond after missing out on Eze, MGW and Semenyo last summer.

its why they went mental for Van Hecke

That's exactly my point. Spurs/agent are using him to make it seem like the deal is gathering steam and it's when not if. In reality, they've not even had a bid, they've just been talking to Sandro.

Until they pay fee, it's no progress.

They won a trophy and had an off season. Same could be said about us but here he gets 250k a week and a chance to play for a good manager

What's De Zerbi achieved in the game compared to Howe?

We should be putting a massive bid in for Fernandes, get the ball rolling

Be another Ekitike situation.

"Sell us Tonali and we'll 'let you' have Fernandez."

Then they'll sign both!!!

So it looks like De Zerbi is looking to pair him with that Mateus Fernandes from West Ham in his double pivot, as he plays a 4-2-3-1 setup. Where Fernandes would essentially play the Bruno role of initiating more of the play from the back.

If the very little we saw of Tonali and Bruno in a double pivot is anything to go by, and that setup continues to get the most out of Tonali going forward, then this could well work out really well for Spurs.

That would be a really bad look for Newcastle, and there will be a lot of questions about why a different setup wasn't tried sooner and more often to try and improve things last season.

On a separate note, I am now seeing Man Utd fans freaking out about Spurs signing both Tonali and Fernandes who they have both made numerous thumbnails of in Man Utd shirts. That bit I'm quite enjoying at the minute ;D

Would love us too but I think we can't do it financially. Would require shifting Nick and or Wissa and not at losses either.

Lol never happening no matter who we sell.

Signed a sex pest and finished 2nd in Le Ligue de Agriculteurs.

Isn't he from Brescia like Tonali? Still it'll be more about the salary increase and living in London if it's true.

I doubt being from Brescia makes a difference at all. Anderson isn't going to pick Man Utd over Man City because Carricks a Geordie is he.

De Zerbi = Pep wannabe

Gonna be lost now he's not managing.

Pep who famously took De Zerbis anti press system?

The entire team were mediocre apart from Bruno and that suggests a systemic problem.

It became a systemic problem because various parts broke down. Trippier is too old, no one could score, Elanga was bad, Woltemade is a weird fit, Ramsey adjusting, etc. Tonali is a big part of said system and, other than his kid being born, he had no extenuating circumstances like many others.

I think you’re being far too kind to Tonali to blame it all on Eddie. He was a shell of himself and his head being turned is not an excuse.

Really? Stay as in overnight?

Pre birth yes, could in 2022 even with locked down wards. Post birth no, visiting until 8 iirc. Still, Tonali's a penis, he only wanted London.

My worry is if Spurs bid around £90m, then the clubs that would really attract Tonali come in with an unsettling bid of say £70-75m.

Does he knock Spurs back and kick up a fuss to go to Man U/C?

Would hope we have learned to not cave to player pressure after last summer.

We didnt value Gordon at 100m.

We did value Isak at 150m.

He went for 120m. A 30m difference.

100m - 30m = 70m.

Let's just hope history doesn’t repeat itself... 😄

125m but yes you have a point there. We should stay firm on our valuation on Tonali, even more after the sale of Gordon.
