It's funny because I can absolutely see us being interested in Ekitike, I just dont see how we finances it, unless someone like Gordon was sold.

That Dopey Liverpool ITK says he's replacing Isak.

Yep

Would love the club to come and shut it down straight away but guess thats not the correct etiquette to keep favour with these agent cunts

Can work both ways - we let people think we’re in for him whilst our attention is elsewhere.

I could actually see us go for Ekitike and gamble that we get huge fee for Isak next summer. Makes more sense for us to have some sort of succession plan than end up scrambling around getting quoted daft prices for lesser players if/when Isak goes.

Ekitike would seem like such a logical alternative to Pedro if that's the type of player we want.

A) would he want to come

B) price

Decent logic this, can allow us to play a different style this season while having a genuine alternative striker. There’s a lot of sense to it other than the disgusting fee that we’d have to pay and the fact this lad loves fucking us about

Ngl, I’ve been thinking we should go all in this summer with the intention of cashing in on someone before July. I know this would leave us vulnerable but think it’s worth a gamble.

Would go against everything Howe, Eales & Mitchell have said over the last year. Too much of a risk for me.

Where else can Ekitike play? I vaguely remember mentions of him potentially being able to play second striker/10/CAM the first time we were interested, but he's barely ever played anywhere other than up front according to his stats.

Answering my own question since I was curious enough to research it:

Interestingly, he played in a striking partnership with Marmoush in the first half of the season.

In theory, if we were going to spend £60m on Pedro regardless of whether we got Elanga or not, and if Frankfurt's stance on the €100m asking price has softened, and if other potential landing spots move on other targets, it's not totally beyond the realms of possibility that we could try again at £60m

Adding Ekitike to Isak, Gordon, Elanga Barnes and Murphy gives us the best attacking squad depth in the league IMO.

Can’t see it happening in the slightest like, but still.

Apparently Romano said in one of his YT videos that Frankfurt had lowered it to between £68-74m or something because Ekitike wasn't happy with them giving a fuck off price, can't find a tweet where he said that though just the link to the whole long YT vid
