NUFC Transfer Rumours

Its the only downside compared to Jackson. I was talking about the football side of it.

60m for Jackson may cost us less money in the long run than 35m for Wissa because of the PSR boost we could get if we moved Jackson 3-4 years down the line for someone better.

There's really no distinction between the money side and the football side given that PSR rules are now the primary factor dictating which footballers we are permitted to employ.

Agree, but we dont have a striker with CL coming up. Feels really weird writing that sentence . Wissa is the better striker at the moment so him over Jackson any day.

If it means selling Isak, then it is a disasterclass.

It sounds like we want rid of him just as much as he wants to leave at this point. If he's going to put in performances like he did post cup final then we aren't really missing out much either.

except he is still an asset worth boatloads, and Liverpool have likely acted like complete shady cunts. A statement needs to be made that we won't be bullied by the cartel even if Isak chooses to fuck himself over and phone it in.

Having Gordon on there as a CF option :anguish:

He's never been effective anywhere other than the LW for us. Hoying him up front has always been a pointless exercise

I think as a two up top it may work but on his own he looks lost. Maybe it will come with experience.

if it's just Wissa coming in, and Isak accepts his fate, then it's fantastic. Lot of if's there though.

Isak staying, something like Wissa & McGinn replacing Wilson & Longstaff plus Elanga & Ramsdale in for Miggy & Dubravka and despite the noise, that's some good strengthening. Still want a centre-back but we can still salvage the situation and improve things.

I don’t think that’s a bad list personally. We need two strikers at this point for the season ahead and there aren’t a huge amount around. They don’t need to be our forever strikers. Three of them hit double figure PL goal tallies and we need to replace about 28 goals.

We’re in this mess partly because of our ridiculously over optimistic initial targets. Honestly, if we don’t do something soon we’ll have far more to worry about this time next year than now.

much prefer Gallagher. McGinn is fine, but his age and what Villa would likely want make him not worth it. Gallagher has a lot of room to grow, and is already a great midfielder. Howe may well turn him into a colossus.

Ramsdale is far from ideal, but I think that he's an absolutely massive improvement over our other backups.

He's ripe for a Saudi sale to recoup some of that though.

Which we’ve done only once, for arguably under market value.
