I reckon he wants out for game time, and hopes Amorim is peddled, then he can go back and prove himself to a new manager.

Exactly the type of loan EH doesn't want... a player with less commitment to us in the long term.

From Mainoo's point of view a loan makes the most sense.  He's not in the manager's current plans but the manager will likely be gone before his contract is up.  If he goes on loan then he can see who the next manager is and find out if he's likely to be in their plans next season and make his decision from there.

I think he fits into our squad rather than our team.  We cant have Bruno and Tonali playing every game.

I'm sure Jacob Ramsey wants to play too, even though he is considered Joelinton backup, same with Barnes, same potentially with Wissa.  In any case, if Mainoo does come he will still paly tonnes of games - Any games Tonali misses Bruno would go to six with Mainoo coming in, and Mainoo would be the direct replacement for Bruno if he is out

Any injury to Bruno or Tonali (like now), and we’re down to Miley and Ramsey. One more injury, and we’re down to kids I guess.

Mainoo can play both roles. He’s a solid number 6 but can get forward as well - gives us strength in depth.

Perhaps, but Bruno and Tonali aren't invincible and can't play every league and cup match.  If we want to challenge at the top of the table we need depth with little or no drop off, otherwise Eddie will just play the first 11 until they drop.
