Hopefully we take a bit of a gamble and add a couple to the squad that offer something different.

 

Villa last season were only 3 points worse than us at this point, and they remained 9th/10th until end of March. But they added that bit extra quality in January (Asensio and Rashford) to push on for a few months.

While we desperately need a high quality creative midfielder...we desperately need cover for left and right back. 

 

I hope we don't fuck around this window.

Right and left back is top priority imo. Howe needs at least one side back who is decent in attack. Hall is our only lifeline atm.

Clearly some cover at full back and someone who can do something different in midfield and link the attack would really help us in the second half of the season.

Seems plausible given the fact he can do the Burn thing playing CB and LB, and Howe has worked with him before.

Where crying out for a centre half, I don’t think Thiaw looks anywhere near as good alongside Schar in recent games.

 

The answer is not Ake though at 30 years of age and we should be spending our money on a young hybrid defender, like the French lad we’ve been linked with.
