Hall has been immense thus far and Miley has stood in admirably, but we simply must get reinforcements. Thought the defense was out on their feet after about 70 mins or so, understandably so as they been playing each game. oldtype Posted December 31, 2025 Share Posted December 31, 2025 We absolutely do not need another center back. We have four players in that position of starting quality and this same defense looked unbreakable earlier in the season. To go up to five would be an incredible waste of limited resources. The simple reality is that two of the four just happened to get injured as we were going into the busiest stretch of games all season and the other two are feeling the effects of fatigue. The problem will largely solve itself when Botman and Burn are fit again. We can evaluate replacing either Schar or Burn at the end of the season. They would only sell them in the summer really, they are only selling Semenyo because of his release clause. They change release clauses in future to make sure that they aren’t active during January.
