Did he have a bad game for the U21's?  (I didn't watch it)

Just looked on Bluemoon and they seem to have decided he's shit and they dont want him.

"if City weren't interested he'd be worth no more that £40m"

"Don’t want him off this showing."

"Looks & plays like a Harry McGuire to me.  Definitely not worth what they’re asking."

He’s not worth what we’re “asking” because it would take a ridiculously prohibitive amount for us to contemplate selling him.

So we’ll just keep him thanks.

Strangely for him better going forward than defending on the right but seemed to be playing a strange role almost covering centre mid at times.

Didn’t watch the final but he inverted to great effect in the semi I thought.  In the 5 at the back he was inverting to good effect for us too.  He retains that dribbling ability in midfield which breaks lines and progresses play.

He's been excellent during this tournament, not a surprise really though, he's been underrated this whole season. I'm really looking forward to seeing him get a full season at RB with a new RW ahead of him and potentially a new CB beside him.

What did surprise me was his really poor goal and assists record. Specifically assists though, I know goals is not what his games about (good job it's not).  But he does need to start improving his assist number this coming season. 93 senior club appearances and 2 assists is something to work on.

I still think his future is at right back, but strangely again in this tournament he was much better in the opening 2 games where he played left back. Was much quieter when he was moved to right back for the rest of the games.

Try Lewis at RB [emoji38]

3 years left on his deal not sure we need to spike our wage bill for  him already with that long left to go unless his current contract is so poor it would make him consider his future.

A rock that doesn't understand your point sorry. He's been linked with city yes? Had a good end of season and euros?

He's tied to a contract for 3 years we have no sporting director or ceo who is adding negotiating a deal for a locked in player to someones to do list?

Certainly one to visit at some point this season but surely bad timing right now unless the player is unhappy.

I'm guessing he'll have came in on a relatively low wage and his status and performances will likely deserve way more. He'll at the least be deserving of the sort of wages Barnes, Schar, Joelinton are on.

Ok let me spell it out for you then:

We have some elite players. The Sky 6 want all our elite players. They are using the media to unsettle our elite players. Players like Tino have improved vastly since we signed them on their original contract terms and is now a star PL player and a star England player. Man City will offer him far advanced contract terms and we need to be able to match that to thwart off their advances. We can't just keep players on their original terms and expect no issues when other clubs are telling their agent how they're going to triple/quadruple their wages. Part of the reason the Isak situation is the way it is right now is because we broke his trust over a new contract on vastly improved terms.

Out of interest when is a good time to offer a new deal to any player?

2 years? 3 years? Final year? Does it depend on how much they came in on or how they performed?

I understand the want to reward good players and to offer them terms that keep them happy.

However seems like a job when  there is a management team in place to do it not when we are struggling to bring players in.
