Yeah good performance from him. Puts in a massive shift always.

So much better when he drives forward with the ball rather than being timid and passing. Also always our last line of defense due to his pace.

Just wish he'd let fly once in a while when he's cut in from the left and has a sight at goal.

He's so unbelievably good in those 1v1 situations, always have faith he comes away with the ball and he's so press resistant too, not scared to take on 2 or 3 players with his close footwork, I hope we resist any attempts from the legacy teams trying to prise him away.

Tino Livramento on team morale:

“I think we have shown we are together, we are fighting for each other and I think we can come through it and show how strong we are as a unit.

It hasn’t changed anything in the changing room to be honest. I go in every single day with my teammates, they are my friends, there’s a great feel around the club and we are together.

When you go down to ten men, it’s all about mentality and togetherness as a team and you could see that in abundance.

I thought we were the better team, we played really well and we have to take the positives from this game. We could definitely feel that, we were enjoying playing football and the reaction from the team was top level.”

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it but he looked much wider across the shoulders on Monday night - looks like he's been hitting the gym a bit in pre-season. His long throws seem a new asset too.

What a great buy this guy has been.

Had meant to make this point; yeah, they seemed to cause a lot of trouble. Wonder if this is a Marty Mark idea.

Had a bad feeling Salah would do something when Tino was moved to RB. Salah doesn't get a kick when Tino is on the left.

That's twice now Hall has had a good showing against Salah also. Albeit for a short spell Monday but seemed to hold his own when he had a battle with him and came away with the ball.

Also played really well if I remember in that away game against them before he got injured last season.

Excited to have him back in the team fully fit soon. Gives us a lot offensively aswell.

Wait and see if Tino can be as effective again when he switches back to the right because he's been amazing at left back during Hall's injury.

Eh.

Salah filled his boots in the league against Hall last season and he got th dangerous ball that led to the goal on Monday. IMO if Tino's at LB he prevents such an easy pass.

Are you on the wind up?

Dan Burn was closest to Salah for that one. Hall had to go out to press the pass before that. Even then I'm not blaming any of the back 4. It was the midfield 3 that all took themselves out the game on the phase before it even reached Salah and he passed it first time before anyone could cut it out.

Crazy to blame hall or Tino not being at lb for that one.

Also check back that away game at liverpool the 2:0. I distinctly remember despite the poor performance from the team that night that Hall could hold his head up high for playing well up against Salah.

Tino's class but Hall has a higher ceiling.

I would agree. But Tino is a better defender still by a distance. Far greater hunger to engage defensively and physicality.

They are on our team so don't care to debate who is better or anything. Just that I fancy Tino to lock down most wingers and has Salah's number entirely.

The 3-3 Salah filled his boots. The 2-0 was the game Hall got injured in no? I'm disregarding thr 2-0 game as we give it to them

That's fine if your disregarding it but I wasn't and I never said hall was as good as Tino defensively.

But I specifically talked about there being two times Hall has done ok against Salah and I was talking about Monday and in that last away game. Which were the last two times he faced him.

Tino is clearly the better defender primarily thanks to his pace. Hall doesn't have that attribute but has improved remarkable from where he was. Most notably that home game against Arsenal last year in the league.

However Hall does have more positive attacking traits. Namely his crossing and shooting which is a slight weakness of Tino.
