madras
Longstaff for Joelinton please.
Holloway
Get Longstaff in for Joe for a bit more energy

Yorkie
Decent account of ourselves but they've just been outrageously good in and out of possession. Forced us into one too many errors and there you go, 1-0. We're not out of it but the sensible bet is a carbon copy in the second half and 2-0 FT. Hateful fixture. Mike
Man, City feel like they've got 22 out there.

Viana
Another game where I'm quite proud of how we've equipped ourselves. You move that quality dial up a bit and we cause this lot problems.
HawK
Barnes for Almiron, switch Gordon over Longstaff for big Joe We go again
Shays Given Tim Flowers
Not sure what people are expecting almiron to do here Bruno good. Botman great. Nobody else is really offering much.
Joelinton7
They’re just miles miles better than us. There’s literally nothing we can do and no point complaining. We’re a few years away from being able to match them.
Super Duper Branko Strupar
Weve strolled around in 2nd gear. Surprised by how low intensity we are. Better be saving it for the 2nd half.
toontownman
Foden was in God mode in that firsr half. Good half for Trippier. Bruno and Tonali have been ok. Gordon and our defence have worked their bullocks off.
Krabbe2
Had hoped we could give City a fight today, but only to realize that they are several classes better in everything. Even with injuries and the match against Sevilla/travel in the legs. Terrible 45 min from Joelinton this.
GEFAFWISP
Interesting half, expected possession play, we need to do more with our half chances and great finish aside they've not really created much either in spite of their positional dominance. We can still get a result, Barnes and Wilson could be key subs.
nortoon
Joelinton especially looking uncharacteristically timid. We've had some good runs off the ball but need to improve the final ball, the whole team seems a bit timid really. Hopefully if we can keep it tight someone like Barnes could come on towards the end and nick it.
SUPERTOON
City brilliant, we don’t look like ourselves at all. Fortunately it’s only 1 so still a slight chance we can get back in to it.
Nine
They are just so good man, ‘weak’ line up or not. We knew that anyway though, hopefully there’s a bit more about us second half. Gonna be really difficult from here.
Beren
Not trying to be hyperbolic in my criticism, but I think Newcastle might watch that half back and feel a bit embarrassed. No shortage of effort, especially out of possession, Man City are by far away the better side, and that's all fine, but the amount of times Newcastle players have shat their pants with unforced misplaced passes or heavy first touches is not the standard the team will hold themselves to. Still think this Newcastle team are class, but a lot of that wasn't Man City brilliance. Just Newcastle way too intimidated, not daring to take on anyone. HaydnNUFC
These are still the treble winners and it's as well as we could've done given we haven't played well. Really slow in possession all round, not moving the ball quick enough, haven't been able to get Isak involved at all. Joelinton's been poor. All I've got. Ginola
Joelinton hasn't looked himself so far. Don't think we'll see it but I'd like AG to the right and Barnes on for Miggy
Mike
That first half is liek when you narrowly miss having a car wreck on the highway and you just turn the radio off and drive in silence for a while.
Kid Icarus
Nothing to worry about in the grand scheme of things, but we need some sort of plan for Foden. He shouldn't constantly be finding space like he is. Thought they've been their usual boring, efficient selves. We could be better, Joelinton inparticular not at his usual imperious self. TheBrownBottle
Not too bad tbf - still in it. These are bloody good - but we knew that already. They’re not having an off day, so to be in at HT at 1-0 is hardly the end of the world. Yes, a few of our players aren’t at their level. But that’s why they’ve just won the treble, and we’re hoping for top four again. They’re a level above - getting to this level will take time. We can still nick something here though.
