Sibierski
If we’re truly ambitious, then Thiaw doesn’t even need to be a long term RCB. He’s someone that will be competing with someone else for the RCB next season as Schar at 34 going 35 should be moved on. So it’s not like we are hanging our long term hopes on him, he’s a much better option than Lascelles, could surprise us or at worse be a dependable squad player. Should’ve been done 4 weeks ago seeing we knew loads about him. Because we've got nee cunt in charge of anything and the poor fuckers who are being tasked with recruitment have spent the last month running about trying to find an adequate replacement for the flat pack nonce. Whitley mag
Still young and got all the attributes to be a top defender. Nothing not to like about this deal, where clearly not planning on selling Isak, so budget needs to stretch to a striker and midfielder as well. Everyone would want Scalvini but he’d be an even more expensive risk. If this summer is anything to go by we’d have been gazumped as well. They’re actually doing what most have been calling for shopping in the right market.

Wouldn't doubt your assessment of the player but the pricing situation changes when a PL club enters the chat. Sadly the cartel clubs here have inflated the market. Man Utd signed Yoro for £60-odd million. Then you've got the likes of Todibo and Andersen going for more than £30million.

Thiaw could absolutely become our starting CB this season, I don’t understand this attitude of writing young players off when they have had a rough time or a bad few moments. Hes 24 and has all the attributes needed to start and exceed in the PL, with some different coaching he could be transformed from the rough diamond that he is right now. We’ve seen this coaching staff do it time and time again with all sorts of players. Edited August 9, 2025 by Nine
