Doesn't make much sense as we are worried about PSR, not cash flow.

Have you posted this from the 2010s?

How many players in history of football moved for 55M or more?  He is a good player but he is not a game changer that justify that fee. Mbeumo for that matter worth easily 60M+ imo.

Malick Fofana for example for 30-35M would be by far smarter signing, especially with PSR in mind.

As I said, I hope he proved me wrong but I have my doubts

We don’t need another LW.

If Eddie is dead set on him (I think this is the 2nd time we’ve tried for Elanga) I’ll bet he’ll prove any doubters wrong!

I’m sure I read the opposite? That the latest offer to forest is attractive to them because the majority is paid up front.

At least 75 of them, not allowing for inflation

Fofana is completely unproven and £35m for unproven given Lyon’s troubles looks fucking insane to me

I like both Elanga and Mbeumo, but how is one easily a game changer worth £60m+ and Elanga not? Is it just because of the scoring record at RW where he’s significantly outperformed his xg?

15 in 38 and 4 in 25 if you take out his penalties (as we have Isak) in his last two seasons. Paying premium fee for expectation last season is going to be the bar going forward. Again remove pens, it’s G/A every 148 mins, Elanga 147. They’re both matching each other and you can argue Elanga probably can improve.

Think you're the only one to hear/see that rumour.

Fofana is a left winger.

You specifically stated you didn't think he's worth more than 25m. How many Premier League proven players have gone for less than that (without some other type of circumstance like a contract ending)?

Lloyd Kelly cost 20m for gods sake.

If we take Murph as an example and Elanga’s age I’m certain he will improve under Eddie’s wing. Elanga’s availability stats are very good too, added to this his speed, plays off both feet, both wings and through the middle. I’ve no doubt he’ll get bums off seats like Maxi used to! Elanga, Isak and Gordon can create hell for defences.

It is overpriced, but one that probably needs doing now. If Cordero steps up on his loan out to Ajax and Osula, there’s a valid chance that with Gordon / Isak ages if they are operating at high levels, we don’t need to then touch the forward positions for 2026 or 2027 (just a rotation striker or RW depending on Osula long term position). Barnes could be sold if Cordero steps up.

So in that context, paying slightly over the odds for a RW who’s young can be justified as the funds are spent on defence / CM next summer.

I have less concern, if this goes through there's a bit of keeping Isak happy in the mix.  I also think Eddie will make him a better player

Am I the only one who does think that Elanga is worth 55-60m in today’s market then??

Put a week or so ago, £30m is getting Sunderland a pretty unproven midfielder to help in a relegation battle, we're signing Elanga because we think he's good enough to compete in a top 4 challenging team and already has Premier League experience. I think it's a realistic fee.

I think it’s a fair fee. He’s absolutely massive for them and they won’t be able to replace him. He’s 23 and is one of the best at crossing the ball in, in the league. Can strike and pass off both feet and is rapid.

I get that he’s not technically great, not amazing at helping possession based play, and not the best at build up from our half but we know what Howe has done with a player like Murphy who is similar but way less talented
