There's nothing wrong with even having the opinion.

It's the constant bleating on and on about it with such over the top statements over and over again.

If and when it doesn't end up like they claimed and it all gets thrown back in their faces because they were being so irritating, then will come the indignation and crying victim.

Just unbelievable

He's undeniably not started well, even if his impressive Champions League performances are being erased from memory.

To consider him a dud ten games into his NUFC career is madness though. Especially we know how things have panned out with previous signings.

Yeah, I know and I agree ... but some people feel the need to lay down their marker right now.

Not sure why it has to be done so often and with such ridiculously over the top statements though

We'll see how it all plays out soon enough.

It's astounding how many are willing to make themselves look.like muppets over and over.

Much to everyone's glee, we'll get a big money move wrong eventually, but at least give it a few months before we nail our colours to the mast.

I make snap judgements and live and die with them.

Fair enough. Eddie said in his post match interview that Elanga will become an important player for us.

So, you’re up against EH on this one.

Will hopefully look better when Wissa is in the setup and perhaps Tino back at RB so he’s not as concerned about covering for Trippier.

Was disappointing to watch the fast break fall apart by leaving the ball behind I have to admit. The ball should’ve been 10 yards in front of him and heading straight towards goal.

Its great we’ve 2 good options either wing with different styles but it seems to of cost all of them their rhythm and form with only Murphy showing anything like a piece of a jigsaw that fits.

Swedish big money signings are struggling this season

Gyokeres

Isak

Elanga

knew we should have gotten that Roony Bardjhi as our Swedish winger, would have only cost 2m

I prefer his brother, Onion.

That break in the game when he hesitated, it looked like he didn’t have confidence in his fitness to blitz past which is basically his strongest attribute, is it possible he’s not quite fully fit or carrying a slight knock?

But then at the same time we just don't look strong at the moment. We were bullied off the ball so many times, always taking that extra touch into trouble.

In what planet would he choose us over Barca?

Elanga needs time, and his sitter vs Villa opening day had the feel of Tomasson vs Sheff Wed even at the time.

My worry would be the crowd getting on his back - the constant groans and moans may not be too far away if his current form continues.

That's the key. It's one thing saying on here that he's been poor, which he has, but that's just harmless opinion which goes no further.

If the crowd start getting on his back that's when you start having problems. I'd like to think they won't, and speaking personally I never will because I've never understood what positive purpose that serves, but with success (League Cup Winners/CL again) comes expectation and with expectation comes more fans acting like spoilt brats. Just hope we don't get the chance to find out. Wouldn't expect him to start tomorrow anyway. I think he'll bring Murphy back in. He did well again when he came on v Brighton.

He’s had a choppy start for sure and looks like he’s in his own head a bit. Not trying to be harsh, but he seems more like a player who thrives on instinct rather than overthinking things.

Once the system is drilled into him and he doesn’t have to think so much on the pitch, I reckon he’ll come good. The lad has amazing physical attributes and does have great deliveries in his locker; I’m sure we’ll see the best of him in due course.

He is still a massive upgrade over Almiron. We just overpaid. But almost every young player who start most games in a top half PL side would cost £50m so I don't feel too bad about it.

The problem is he isn't showing it.

This is exactly how I see things so far

I had the same thought, almost looked like he was trying to protect his legs. Was weird if it wasn't that.

I don’t think I’ll ever understand why we signed this guy. He was a pace merchant on the break. Now he up against a set defence most weeks.

perplexing and terrible signing.

He has started four premier league games for us. It beggars belief to me that people STILL haven't learned over five years of Eddie not to jump the gun on our signings and actually let them settle into the team.

A perplexing and terrible signing ffs [emoji38]

Tbf there were a few moments that he looked dangerous in his first 2 months, he just didn't show that enough. Almiron in contrast never looked like he's a threat since 2024.

Agree. What sold me on him after some initial doubt was his delivery, he can whip them into real danger areas if the supporting players are making the right runs. He's got a decent strike on him as well.

I sometimes think the "Howe will make him into a better player" is overplayed a bit, but he does know how to get a player to use his attributes well. If he can get Elanga just to play his game without fear, he'll become the player he was last season.

I think Howe can and will make him better issue is compounded by the fact this season playing 2/3 games a week likely leaves little in the way of training time with the group, international breaks dont help as he travels away on duty too.

Not making excuses for him hes been poor for the Financial outlay we had to pay in the end.

We really need goals and assists coming from the wings right now its not clicking.

Too early to make a judgement but of our signings I'm a bit nervous about this one.

Time will tell of course, and no reason to not be behind him or jumping on every little thing.
