Miggys First Goal Posted Saturday at 20:20 Share Posted Saturday at 20:20 Wouldn’t have been confident for this fixture in the past. With the way City are playing, could see a result here.
Colos Short and Curlies Posted Saturday at 20:31 Share Posted Saturday at 20:31 Hopefully that knock to the back keeps their new midfielder out for a week or

Danh1 Posted Saturday at 20:53 Share Posted Saturday at 20:53 Hate this fixture. Arsenal away and Liverpool away are the others I hate as much. Best chance we’ve had since the Souness/Roeder days to win here in the league though.
SteV Posted Saturday at 20:59 Share Posted Saturday at 20:59 Would be nice extremely confident if this was at home. They’ve looked massively brittle away. They have looked a fair bit better at home mind. Nowhere near what they were, but still pretty good. Could do with a really draining game against Madrid during the week, with some form of controversy that gets a lot of attention.

Also the Madrid game being close enough so they’re having to make decisions on personnel to prioritise the 2nd leg.
mighty__mag Posted Saturday at 21:13 Share Posted Saturday at 21:13 Are these bellends our next game. They've got a new reputation for being easy to score against. Exploit Rico Lewis and Gvardiol, neither have a clue how to defend. They're all at sea when the pair play at the back. Also, Eddie needs to be cut throat, I'd love to see the back five applied, both times vs Man Utd, and Arshole, neither had a clue what to do against us, let's give Pep the same nightmare. Turnbull2000 Posted Saturday at 21:41 Share Posted Saturday at 21:41 (edited) Excellent chance against these if we have most back again. But without Barnes and Joe (both definitely), and potentially Gordon, Burn, and Botman, we're gonna be extremely stretched. Lush Vlad Posted Saturday at 22:25 Share Posted Saturday at 22:25 (edited) I was expecting the same system and team as Arsenal. But guessing Burn won’t play. Hopefully Botman is ok. Could still play that 3 CB set up with Krafth, I suppose? They leave a lot of room on the counter. They seem so leggy trying to get back. So i might be good to go with that again. But I wouldn’t mind seeing Willock for this in the usual 4-3-3, either. Our record there is atrocious, mind and as others have said. They’ve been decent enough at home and have kept getting results. It’s on the road where they’ve struggled. Edited Saturday at 22:27 by Lush Vlad
Ben Posted Saturday at 22:29 Share Posted Saturday at 22:29 We are 3/1 for this, 5/1 with both teams to score.
Alberto2005 Posted Saturday at 22:50 Share Posted Saturday at 22:50 Maybe I'm been pessimistic, but my gut feeling is the final will play on the players minds. I'm not sure we won a game last time from the semi final win upto the final. I think it might be worth giving the likes of Willock and Miley some more game time up until then. They should be able to play more freely without the doubt of getting injured before the final, and also knowing they need to play well to have any chance of playing at Wembley. HaydnNUFC Posted Saturday at 22:52 Share Posted Saturday at 22:52 Would be nice to just not lose this fucking fixture for a change. 15 straight defeats in the league ffs. Haven't scored since 2018, aggregate of 49-7 over the last 15. Tragic. Would be very happy with a point and will be besides mesel with a win. No wins against them away in the league since September 2000, before I was even fucking born.

We were poor but Bruno was banned for most of those games and we were massively reliant on him. That said losing here wouldn't be a surprise regardless of the upcoming fixtures. Wolfcastle Posted Saturday at 23:01 Share Posted Saturday at 23:01 Their best chance of CL next season is via finishing in the top 4. Might prioritise us.

The Prophet Posted Sunday at 00:16 Share Posted Sunday at 00:16 They're starting to look better on the ball, but they're a hot mess out of possession and give up so many chances. For the first time in a while, I'm relatively confident we'll get something here.

STM Posted Sunday at 08:22 Share Posted Sunday at 08:22 A win would be titanic in our CL push. Dubravka Trippier Krafth* Schar Botman Hall Bruno Tonali Murphy Isak Gordon *If Burn is out.
ExiledGeordie Posted Sunday at 08:30 Share Posted Sunday at 08:30 They’re pretty brittle in the middle of the park and we’ve got the offensive threats to trouble them.
SiLvOR Posted Sunday at 08:40 Share Posted Sunday at 08:40 Our best opportunity for a win in the league, this. Been a long time coming, but a draw would still be great. Think we can absolutely get that.

Aye, that's what I was thinking tbh. They're (arguably) very unlikely to win this year's CL based on current form and so the PL represents their best chance to remain a CL side. Not getting the CL is a canny big issue for clubs of that level.

I know what you mean, but I’m not sure you can do anything but play your absolute strongest team when you’re playing Real Madrid in a knockout CL game.
