I agree 100% with this.  We have depth in all areas which has been our main problem.  If we manage to get Barnes out the door and replaced him with Fermin Lopez its been amazing.

Some times we need depth. Do we get 3 years out of wissa? Yes. In those 3 years will Nick be settled and possibly ripping it up? Maybe. 

We need someone who scores goals now. Not next year or whatever and wissa is the closest to assured prem goals we have on the market. 

 

This is a no brainer to be fair.

Age and cost is irrelevant if he scores 15-20 goals this season and gets us European football, we've only overpaid if he completely flops. 

 

If either him or Woltemade (preferably both) hit the ground running this season, we're in a stronger position as a squad compared to last season in my opinion.

Ian, Isak was literally a wonder kid who had an off-season which is what presented the opportunity to us. Maybe that's big Nick maybe but other than that I'm not really seeing it.

Yes we're overpaying if that's the fee but we can’t go into a CL campaign with just Woltermade and Osula, we have no other option and Wissa is a very good option. Overall we will have come out of this window with a much stronger squad and better first 11.

Straight out to international duty too, we can't bed him in but at least he'll hopefully play a couple of games to build some fitness. Shame the window closes as international duty starts as Woltemade and Wissa will barely even meet their new team-mates before the Wolves game.

Woltemade comes with a huge risk with how the majority of attacking German players fail in the premier league nowadays.

Potentially dangerous summer this for football. Two players who pushed to leave, didn't play for their clubs, helped play things out in the media/social media, and still end up getting their preferred moves.

Hopefully contracts going forward will be adjusted to try and prevent/stamp out such actions in future.

It has certainly padded out the squad and our depth looks a lot better.  But only 2 of them are starters in our current setup, which is a bit of a minor gripe. 

 

Although I do wonder if Howe is going to be a bit more flexible now.  4-3-3 as the main formation.  But use the 3-4-2-1 or two up top at times and maybe even back to his old 4-2-3-1 across the season, as well.  We certainly seem to have the personnel to mix it up a bit, at least.

Given the position we were forced into we've done some excellent business. It's irritating how well we could have done without PSR, Man Utd, Chelsea & Liverpool completely fucking us over
