Whilst that is true, he could still refuse to play and then they'll have no money and also no Wissa by next summer anyway.

Same problem we have with Isak, except we have money and aren't going to be relegated.

And in both cases BOTH players will end up playing despite the noise.

The talk was always that they wanted £50m, now we’re late in the window and they’ve lost out on Kalimuendo. It’s also obvious that they’ll be in a relegation battle this season. So I suppose it makes sense.

Move on.

I think we'll persist with Wissa as long as we feasibly can which is the right move. He's an absolutely excellent fit for us, footballing-wise. It's just a shame Brentford look absolutely shocking so they'll be in uber protective mode (which is fair enough).

We’ve not much choice to do any different as we hold no cards. Just like Liverpool.

This signing is so vital IMO, particularly if Isak leaves.

We will need the guaranteed goals this fella has delivered playing striker in the Prem.

He's also good enough to start, but won't be averse to being more of a rotation option later down the line if we sign another younger prospect that starts to come to the fore. He can also play down either wing.

Really think this is one we have to find a way to get done.

One or the other but not both.

Aye I meant sign Jackson instead.

Can’t get both with AFCON.

Jackson and Isak as striker options this year (unless Isak is sold and we get a replacement of course)

Jackson for £80m or Wissa for £60m. What a choice

Other clubs have us over a barrel, so not much choice. Otherwise we'll have the pleasure of Gordon leading the line till at least Jan.

Isak surely? [emoji38]

£60m for a 28 year old with a year left on his contract is basically saying he's not for sale, which is fair enough. We should be doing the same.

You would hope that we had a feeling this would happen and have a plan B for replacing Wilson, but I haven't seen any links at all tbh.

It won’t be those prices for either, will be 25% less on either. It’s just the fucking relentless shite of negotiating day after day after day when we need players in

Where you been all summer?

Wissa was never on our original list of targets! The plan to replace Wilson was…

A: Delap

B: Pedro

C: Ekitike
