I’m not even a bit shocked Brentford are hard to deal with. They know we’re desperate and didnt budge an inch with Man u over Mbuemo. They’re also fucking awful and relegation would cost them a whole lot more.

That's the thing, relegation is almost guaranteed if they lose Wissa. Why the hell would they let him go unless they get an offer they can't refuse.

I am worried we have invested everything into this deal above all others when there is no guarantee we will be able to get it done.

If price now being quoted is correct, f*ck that rather go for Hoijland and take a gamble at £30m

Nah mate we need someone who can score. Hoiland couldn’t even really do that pre Man U. Have no idea why people think he has “potential”. Is it because he runs around a lot? His touch is terrible, he can’t finish, woeful hold up play, his movement is predictable and he’s not even as pacy as people said.

Half of NOL would gladly sign a dead horse just to have a signing, after the DCL clamouring can't say I'm surprised

You’re a bunch of soulless cynical feckers!

I could suggest that the marketing department were the cynical ones in this enterprise, CJ, but 'I didn't get to where I am today by suggesting that the marketing department were the cynical ones in this enterprise...'

Lets keep in mind thats it's not the most reliable folks who are reporting this.

Craig no hope is fairly reliable as journos go and even his post on x mentioned 50m so we were never really aligned in terms of fee. 30/35 just seems to be the figure we like rather than what can be agreed to.

More talks after we make signings may have been how we left it with them which isn't great for us if thats what we were basing waiting for him on.

Never thought we were getting him for £35m.

And yet some people think it's ok to let Isak go. [emoji38]

If you want a glimpse of what it will be like if we have £130m to £150m burning a hole in our pocket then look no further than here. We'd be getting quoted outrageous prices for absolute tat.

Howay man thats just daft

Isaks all round game is far better

Isak is 4 years younger and got 3 years left on his contract still

Its obviously Brentfords perogative to sell Wissa at what they want for him but i would back the club all the way for not paying £50-60?! Million for him like

Yes I get that, it’s why Wissa is cheaper. The point I’m making is Brentford don’t want to sell and their ridiculous price is 40% of what we’re asking for Isak. So is it ridiculous in a market where players with one season of first team football in inferior leagues go for £80m+?

Potential resale value. Isak is an example.

Wait so yet again we've hung around waiting to sign a player and it turn out shock horror not going to happen? If true it's pathetic. I assumed it was all wrapped up just waiting for a replacement, if it's just another sit around and pray that magically we can sign them? Why haven't we moved on???

(again could be nonsense.)

With Jackson I think it boils down to that fact we don’t want or rate him. I doubt we’d spend a huge wedge on his fee and wages

Numerous journos have reported that the recruitment team don't collectively agree on him. I guess the more desperate we get, the more realistic he becomes mind.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and it's never as simple as this, but we should have tied this one up a while back. Maybe we tried to, don't know. I just remember reports of a £25m offer and reports of them needing a replacement first.

Whatever, £40m or so for a striker with probably 4 years left to replace Wilson and then plenty of time left for Brentford to get a replacement would have worked far better than letting everyone else get sorted first.

Not convinced at all with either Jackson nor Hojlund - what we need is someone that can actually score goals. Which we do already have one of, even though annoyingly he's turned out to be a fool.

Wissa isn't worth £50-60 million. If a Newcastle 'tax' is being applied - time to look elsewhere.

If he bangs in 20 goals this season and we win the FA cup he might be worth that much though right.

Facts are without a competent striker we'll not compete this season. So what valuation do we put on aquiring the right player...
