He was always waiting on manure. New forward 3 for them, all linked here. Gutting, as that's an incredible line up for where they finished last season.

We needed to be on it, pay over the odds to secure and get in first. Players will always choose the sky 6 over us until we become one of them. That's the truth and we seem to think hard negotiations with clubs alerting others to our bids is the best way to go. So far, it's been a tragic tactic, but least we've not overpaid.

To make matters worse, you just know we'll undersell isak to Liverpool like we did maxi to Saudi, and Saudi will fund it buying Liverpools shite.

Incredible management of our club.

We genuinely did try here, extremely hard, as we did for Ekitike. I’m not annoyed at the club on either of these, just frustrated that we are so late into the window and have two players in with a much depleted squad overall. It’s a fucking mess and just because a CF is a priority position it doesn’t mean we can just fuck off strengthening the squad elsewhere before we go into a Champions League season

Agreed. If, as expected, we lose out on Sesko just tell Isak to prepare to meet his contractual obligations, try and get Wissa signed and move to more urgent matters asap.

So other than the offer being made by Man United is there any other reason for all the doom and gloom?

As long as we get Wissa I'm not that bothered he's actually the key signing this summer for me. Wissa and a humphy Isak we sell next summer, or Wissa and an adjusting Sesko it feels kind of similar. I'd prefer the former at a push.

Ironically, our plan this season was likely RW (Elanga), Wilson replacement (Wissa?), a CB (crickets on this one) and a goalkeeper (Ramsdale). A CM as a bonus. Isak throwing a huff has thrown the narrative into some disarray, but the silver lining is that no Sesko means we can more firmly issue a "hands-off" on Isak, and then once again bring our focus back to just signing Wissa and a CB. CM as the bonus.

They built this summer in a lab to break our spirits  The ManU offer is 5m lower specifically to let us know that it’s not just the money, it’s us.

It really is the final insult, absolutely insane if they accept the lesser bid. It really does seem that we got too much in the cup win. Universe is taking its revenge now.

surely his agent must now be on the phone to both clubs looking for each club to better the others financial package for him and the player

I think that's where MU blow us out of the water sadly

CM was a bonus when Longstaff was still a warm body on the bench. Arguably as important as the other positions now.

We should start a new poll - Sesko in for 70 million pounds and Isak gone? Or keep Isak and use that spare money on Wissa plus better quality in midfield and centreback? I'd vote the latter.

Well if Sesko comes we need Wissa as well.

We’re still fighting for this transfer window. We can still get everything we need, we just need to show the same willingness with every other area.

Let this be a lesson to how baked in the Establishment Clubs advantages are. New money (City, Chelsea) is the only way to muscle in. We’ve had the chance of doing that closed off.

Fuckers.

That is why new rules were specifically brought in to stop us. This is a cartel, they don't take huge financial institutions lightly.

Shout / put me down - i don't care - but i've always though Hojlund (at @£30) would be a good fit, and you'd still have £50m for someone else.

and i don't think Sesko would be a good fit at manure, in the same way Andy Carroll didn't fit in at Liverpool, as they changed their systems to fit him, 6ft+ and i think manure will do the same thing (if he goes).

No point keeping Isak if he's going to go through the motions all season though. It depends where his head is at, which only him and the club will know. If the club are entertaining the idea of selling him, which they appear to be, it would suggest that they believe he has mentally checked out.

At £30, you might be right. Need someone to put out the cones.

Not sure if Hojlund will make it in the PL, but now is probably as good as his value will ever be at £30m. Not that they'd sell him to us for that price. He's a bit of a crock anyway isn't he?
