Andy Cole used to miss loads of sitters aswell but he was still class,He went on to have a stellar career.

Same with Craig Bellamy but he made us a force and got us challenging.

So picture Gordon's press and the physicality of prime Wilson and you have Jackson.

based on what?

he got chances galour at Chelsea, what transient style of play do we have that'll suddenly improve his finishing?

Palmer, James, Enzo feeding him chances didn't do it but Gordon and Elanga will ? Cool.

I think his finishing and discipline need work, I’m not going to claim he’s a perfect player. I trust Howe to improve players weak points though. Despite that, his goalscoring record is pretty good for someone not on pens. I think his pace, pressing, workrate, and link up play will suit us well. Chelsea under Maresca have a slower style of play than us and I think his form has suffered because of it. That’s just my opinion, I don’t think we’ll sign him anyway.

I like stats, they can be instructive but that's for a player I know little/nothing on and not someone I've watched comprehensively in this league.

14 in 34 in a high performing side where a natural goalscorer would leave with 20+.

He leaves so much on the table, no striker is perfect but he's warm as hell.

Again, Chelsea brought two guys in promptly (neither world beaters), that should be a sign itself

We're desperate so it makes sense to try and paint it in good light but I can't deny what I've seen, he's not a good striker, good player but terrible finisher

Same people championing a potentially incoming will turn on him as he missed sitter #5 for the season

Yeah I don't think there's much I would argue with, just that he has shown flashes of consistency in front of goal, and we'd be buying the dip with the hope last season was a one off.

14 goals while not on pens is a great return in your first Premier League season. If he was on penalties he could have had 23 (Palmer scored 9). Even missing 1/3 he would have hit 20.

The mad thing is all these other fans of other clubs had so much banter and jokes when we signed Isak, because he wasn't a goal scorer apparently, due to only scoring 6 goals in La Liga the year before and under performing his xg.

If we sign Jackson it will be because the coaching staff appreciate all the other stuff he does and will feel once again that they will be able to get better finishing and more goals out of him.

Haven't watched that video above but I would've said he's quite a difficult player to describe. I thought he was total crap from the first few highlights I saw but when you really watch his play he is really always moving, always thinking and trying to link up with teammates. He's not a pure goalscorer but I'm sure he could follow instructions to spend more time in and around the box if needed.

Like the hold-up play highlighted, good at dropping deep to pull defenders away and leave space for fast forwards/midfielders to exploit. We have a few of those!

Adding to the sum total of our parts. Bring him herm.
