If Isak wasn’t a cunt I’d be buzzing for the new season. Taking all the shite that played out in media away and we’ve had a very good window in terms of who we’ve brought in and getting a decent fee for Longstaff.

Just a shame that not all the new players have had a pre season with us.

Consensus looks like they're not happy about the sale and see it as PSR bid. He'll get plenty of minutes here, really excited about this signing.

Christ, that forum really makes me appreciate this place a lot more. No shite adverts taking up your entire screen on here

Whole thing is shite like. Creating a market that incentivises clubs to specifially not have local players playing for them is about as bad an outcome of PSR as there could be.

It incentives clubs to have lots of local players playing for your team. You just have to remember to bend over backwards and sell them to the cartel and super league teams when they come calling or face the punishment of not complying with the rules.

Claret & blue podcast had a podcast out 6 days ago when he was offered a new deal then another 2 days ago when we bid. So you get both angles of him potentially going and him potentially staying. All in all they think he’s got so much potential, he’s a starter in their current side and he would be one of their best players if he got back to his best but ultimately in a PSR world £40m pure profit too much too turn down

:anguish:

So fucking shite that a huge club like Villa, who have been in the CL recently, have to sell one of their own just because of some utterly ridiculous rules has been brought in to protect the wealthiest clubs in the history of the game.

It's a piss take clubs like them and us have to suffer these bs rules

Does anybody else think we still need another midfielder to further bulk the squad up? 20million for McAtee, bargain.

Miley needs playing time. If we buy anyone else we would need to loan him out, which defeats the purpose of buying more depth.

I have to say the whole “Dennis wise scouting” joke never gets old. used it in an everyday reference to a friend who ain’t a toon supporter and I’m sure he had no clue what I was saying.

Obviously a cracking signing if he stays fit. A Villa supporting friend text to say he was gutted about him leaving. Although apparently he missed first half of last season so he’s got fitness to prove.

I’ve learned to stop doubting Howe signings. If Eddie likes him, that’s good enough.

I like that almost every signing we make has been a long standing interest or just opportunism. We’ve been linked with Ramsey before and there was a suggestion at the start of the window that due to PSR that Villa might be tempted to cash in. So whoever put that out there was well sourced.

Can't stand Villa but these two are bang on.

They are bang on. There is only really us and Villa that are truly tested by PSR at the top end. Forest I guess but I can't see them lasting.

Everyone's reaction to Wissa at first was shocking. We could be signing a bloke that scored 19 goals in the league and we've got this other cunt who scored more than that (Cunt sack) We should have been excited but alot weren't as it could hamstring us 4/5 years down the line

Not enamoured by this signing but undoubtedly an upgrade on Willock and Longstaff. Certainly gives us running power and potential goals from midfield.

With the loss of Isak though I fear we need a technical and creative player, not more running power.

We have zero creativity in this team and we’ll be running into brick walls in home games. So in summary not a bad player, but with loss of Isak I have no idea where any spark, or creativity is coming from against deep lying organised defences.

I just don’t see Howe buying that type of player - we have a system and we fit players to it.  Seems to work, mind.

We’re currently a team without anyone to score goals - will that many teams sit deep? I think they’ll currently fancy their chances and have a go, if we get Wissa or somebody maybe they will but then we have some creativity.

I also think it is a bit reductive sort of suggesting he is just more ‘running power’.

I’m not saying he is a number 10 or a really creative type. But he has far more craft and guile than the likes of Willock, Joelinton and Longstaff.
