Theregulars
Burn and Bruno are the obvious ones. I think trippier gets very close as he legitimised the operation, but I’m going to say Pope as he’s quietly been largely brilliant and turned a lot of losses into draws and draws into wins. Displayname
Not easy at all this. But I find it really hard not to include Burn and Tonali atleast, those are set in stone for me. But it's also hard as fuck to exclude Tino, Trippier and Bruno..
Kid Icarus
It's Howe, Trippier, Bruno in that order imo, or if only players then Trippier, Bruno, Burn. Edited October 6, 2025 by Kid Icarus
Novocastrian
Bruno, Isak, Tonali.
Kilcline
Wilson, Howe, Trippier Bruno for Howe if not counting the gaffer Could flip a coin for Wilson & Burn Steak Bakes, Kelly, Jogback for transfers out 😂
Optimistic Nut
Bruno Tonali Isak
gazza ladra
Trippier Bruno Burn The foundation of everything that followed. And Howe obviously. Nothing happens without him.
WilliamPS
Trippier Bruno Burn As others have said its mentality as much as anything. Isak would be 4th for me. Tonali is my favourite signing, but that’s a slightly different question.
Nucasol
Dan Burn Tripps Bruno Sandro as a close call but those three have been core to so much success.
NSG
Trippier - the first person to believe in the project. Burn - embodies everything that being a Geordie is. A true local hero. Bruno - just watch that interview after the cup final and it tells you everything you need to know about the bloke. All three of them are trumped by Eddie, mind. I never thought anybody could ever come close to my love for Keegan and Hatem. He may just overtake them both. Edited October 6, 2025 by NSG
Ed Vinegar
Trippier is number one. Kick-started the project, wonderful, cultured player and a good professional with positive influence on the team. Burn is second. Ever-present, playing for his childhood team, scored first in a cup final that we won, incredibly likeable and good with the media, now playing for England and raising the club's profile. Third is Bruno*. He's the captain, loves the club, loves Newcastle, wears his heart on his sleeve, just a great player and man. *If Tonali hadn't been banned his first season I think it would be too close to call, as he's the best midfielder, maybe player, I've ever seen at Newcastle. Displayname
Think I'm not getting the question. How can people not include our best player in who has been our best transfer? Wasn't that expensive compared to others(Trippier/Burn excluded). Edited October 6, 2025 by Displayname
Infinitely Content
Trippier, Burn, Bruno. When Trippier signed he made me realise what a world class player looks like. Having the chance to watch him every week over his first full season was a privilege. Burn's importance and influence has grown over time, from an apparent stop-gap to as good an embodiment of the fans on the pitch as any club could wish for, and one of the most consistent performers in the team. He's been immense. Not a lot needs to be said about Bruno, it's obvious, he's a club legend, up there with the biggest and best names you could mention from all eras of Newcastle United history. Abacus
Got asked this in the pub earlier. Straight away I said Burn. Then Trippier, and completely forgot about Bruno, thinking he's been here forever. But yeah, so those three.
Paullow
Without reading any replies, Bruno, Trippier, Burn.
Yorkie
There's a fair amount of denial if you're not saying Isak, like. He left under a cloud but he was absolute dynamite and there's no way we have the success without that calibre of striker imo. Also a massive victory financially, despite us supposedly failing by not holding out for more than £130million. Isak, Bruno and then a shootout between Trippier and Burn. Tripps for me; just an incredibly influential signing.

James
Without Wilson and Willock none of the others exist so they are number one and two. could make a case for a number of our current players to fill the other slot.
stozo
OK, I’ll bite: 1. Isak. We identified and signed early one of Europe’s Top 5 strikers. Played a massive role in getting us into the CL in two out of three seasons and scored the winning goal for our first domestic trophy win in 70 years. We then sold him for a British record transfer fee which has unlocked us from the FFP shackles for our next phase of growth. You can hate him for leaving but he is clearly our best signing to date since 2020. 2. Bruno. Joined early and played a big role helping us stay up, before becoming an integral part of our success. He’s a world class midfielder and clearly a hugely positive contributor off the pitch too. 3. Burn. Joined early like Bruno and has proved to be insane value for money. League Cup Final goal probably edges him past the tough competition for third place.
gbandit
It’s all extremely heavily weighted towards the earliest period of the takeover which is fair enough. In terms of a foundation for arriving where we are today but I do think of the players we’ve signed so far Bruno and Tonali will last as all timers
Moose
I can't add much to the Trippier, Burn and Bruno which hasn't been mentioned already. Honourable mentions: Isak - Yeah, I know, but he was instrumental in building us to where we are now Tonali - A rolls royce of a player, an absolute joy to watch Willock (the hipsters choice) - Without him, we would've went down under Captain Steak Bakes

Burn has provided the foundation for everything on the pitch from the moment he signed, right back to his first game where he was imperious in a defence which had been struggling. Even Isak's best and most important moment in black and white, the cup final goal, Burn provided the foundation for with his ridiculous header. And then theres the leadership, versatility and omnipresence, and the most important factor of just being a sound human being which really does matter in this team. I took the question to mean the most important transfers. That's why I picked out Trippier, Bruno, Burn. By "our best player" I assume you mean Bruno, Tonali, or Isak.
