mackems vs. Newcastle United: 14/12/25 @ 14:00 (Sky Sports)

Just a reminder to folk that in the event of us losing, you're not going to feel any better about it because you can point to evidence that says you thought we might in advance

Stop being so fucking soft and try to remember why you like football, man

For me there's some frustration in finally sharing a division with them again when we're having a bit of a dip.

I'm glad we faced them in 23/24 and had that opportunity to demonstrate the gulf.

Are we having a bit of a dip?

Not sure we are like.

Wednesday's game is just as important for me or maybe even more. I've seen us lose to these loads, home and away, so take it in my stride now but that cup final victory in March was a different level. Would be amazing to repeat that this season or win the FA cup.

These games mean more to them than to us in my view, but think we will not lose, probably edge it 2-1. If we do lose please no plie on onto Eddy.

Joking aren't you?

Theres been a pile on on Eddie from some quarters after last night's 2-2 draw away to Leverkusen in the Champions league. I dread to think what people will be like if we lose on Sunday.

Not advocating a pile on, but if we do lose, that's Brentford, West Ham and Sunderland we've lost to away, and as I've said with how dismissive people are being towards Sunderland then surely losing away to a shit team like them is horrific? It's not acceptable.

It'll be a dreadful defeat if it happens and questions will rightly be asked.

They are clearly not a shit team. They are punching above their weight at the moment, but they were put together well.

Whenever I start feeling worried/sick about this, I make myself feel better by looking at the longer term/bigger picture. Sure, at this precise moment in time they're having a purple patch. Could even turn out to be a purple season.

But ultimately we're still on an entirely different journey to the one they're on. Our CEO can come out and say things like "we are aiming to be one of the best clubs in the world by 2030" and (because of the resources of our majority owners) people have to take it seriously. Their best case scenario is likely being Nottingham Forest. Just about established as a PL team. Sometimes having a good decent season. Sometimes battling relegation. But we're not the same anymore.

I'm sick of this patter. Seriously, have you watched them? They are crap. Yes they have the points in the bag but the mystery is how. They are not "put together well", they are crap. We stuff them comfortably.

Well, given the encouragement that this compilation apparently gives, they'll surely have no complaints if a few of their players are on the receiving end of bone-breaking challenges. Which would be a shame :bluestar:

Small time cunts, forever in our shadow

Couldn't agree more with this , I hate them as much as anyone and if we get beat Sunday it will be awful but we have won a recent trophy are playing in the champions league again, beating us is as good as it gets for them .
