I thought we played well there and should've won it.

I'm quite angry at Wissa, that was diabolical. His left foot is non-existent which is inexcusable for a striker. At least hit the target.

We deserved more but winning it is pushing it like. They had a perfectly good goal ruled out.

Club with all the money in the world that were allowed to spend it beats club with all the money in the world that aren’t.

With a dodgy player that shouldn't have been on the pitch, when did that rule change anyway ?

The commentator going wild about Semenyo being an amazing signing, as if they paid half a million quid for him from the Georgian Second Division or something was irritating.

Must be the easiest job in the world being a City scout. Who's been good this season in the PL? Aye we'll have him. How much will he cost? Doesn't matter we'll just have him.

What game were you watching? City were clearly the better team.

They were better in front of the goals, and that's what win you games. We created more than them but didn't take it. Some poor defending as well.

Disappointing to lose tonight, but we competed well and didn't really get the run of the ball when it mattered. Again - Hall and Big Jo were outstanding.

Players have made huge efforts over the last week or so - no shame in this.

No complaints with the approach to the game. I think on another day what we did is successful, the difference here was them seeing two things out: our own poor finishing, with poor performances from both of our centre forwards, and their players getting away with absolute murder.

Can't say we deserved more but I'm not worried about how we set up or approached it, the execution from our players just wasn't there and they (and then us tbf) benefitted from the officials, who in their case let them hack and hack away continuously, especially that chisel rat Silva. How they finished with 11 players is anyone's guess.

It's half time, on paper we're capable and I think at 1-0 I'd have a bit of hope, at 2-0 I don't think we stand a chance considering how shagged our players will be in 3 weeks time.

Pope: 7

Miley: 6.5

Thiaw: 7.5

Botman: 7.5

Hall: 8.5

Bruno: 6.5

Joelinton: 7

Ramsey: 7.5

Gordon: 6.5 Barnes: 6.5

Wissa: 4 Woltemade: 5

Murphy: 6 Elanga: 5

We played well from what I saw, unfortunately we just played an absolutely excellent City side. As much as I hate them, when they are on form, they are so fucking hard to play against. Even if Arsenal win the league this season and Liverpool won it last year, City under Pep when they are good are the worst to play against.

Poor genius pep needed that signing as soon as the January window opened.

It was a really good effort. On another day we score a couple. Wissa still looks like a guy who’s been out for 6 months but the header was very unlucky.

Sometimes it’s worth taking a moment to remember we’re competing against a team with an unlimited transfer budget and an unlimited wage bill due to years and years of systemic cheating.

We’ve come so far.

Games like this really just make it all feel so fucking pointless. A player who shouldn't even be on the pitch scores, and they can just bring on world class players galore due to cheating the system for years and years and being untouchable behind the scenes. Just really disheartening when we can't get a single transfer wrong or even spend to bolster our increasingly thinning ranks.

Will be plenty more games like that for us this next week's unfortunately as we are going to look leggy every game due to the schedule. Shame we couldn't really go for them properly but it is what it is.

Their freshness and standard of the subs they could bring on was a ridiculous advantage.

Fact Semenyo was the one to score was inevitable with all the talk pregame.

Our strikers weren't at it today unfortunately, we needed to be clinical to have a hope and we were wasteful.

Hall, big Joe tried hard. Barnes also looked a threat.

We weren’t that bad. We just looked absolutely knackered second half. Players have played a lot lately. Some played 120 minutes a few days ago while city rested some and also had a pretty much training match where they didn’t need to do more than jog.

Surprisingly give no fucks about this result other than an annoyance that I was convinced that Semenyo was cup tied.

They changed the rules.  Obviously to suit the big 6

Do find it deeply frustrating that it can't just be one of those 'proud of the performance' nights. Because although I am - because it was an amazing effort with tired legs - we had chances, and have ourselves to blame for not making a better game of it.

Right now I just feel miserable about the intensity of the schedule ahead. We already look absolutely shagged and it's not getting any easier. The FA Cup draw is even more deflating now we're out of this.

Disappointing result naturally, i'm not disappointed in the performance though, it was a really competitive and cagey game where the fine margins went their way and not ours. That said I think you could really see towards the end of that game that we had played 215 minutes of football in the last 6 days, we looked really leggy.

That disallowed goal was scandalous btw, it benefitted us, but by fuck would I be fuming if that was given the other way.

Well technically he was offside (just). And he did interfere because he wrestled Thiaw half a yard away from where the ball went in. Freaky decision but a right one.
